This weekend in Austin will be another great college football matchup between the Texas Longhorns and the Oklahoma State Cowboys as both teams come into the contest undefeated and highly ranked. Both teams have signature wins over other ranked teams. OSU beat Missouri 28-23, and Texas knocked off the Oklahoma Sooners 45-35. But it has been Texas who has destroyed every other team outside of Oklahoma by more than three touchdowns. Oklahoma State has not played as tough of a schedule but they will be tested on Saturday.
OSU beat Baylor last week 34-6. Baylor scored first, and then it was all Cowboys. OSU QB Zac Robinson was 13-of-20 for 238 yards and 2 TD’s. Cowboy’s wide receiver, Dez Bryant had a brilliant game with 11 catches for an astounding 212 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The Cowboy’s offense is averaging 46.4 points per game while giving up 20 points to their opponents. OSU will need to keep up the pace against Texas who is putting up 48.1 points per game and allowing 17.6 to their counterparts.
The Longhorns ran away from the Missouri Tigers last week 56-31. Texas QB Colt McCoy continued his near perfect ways by going 29-of-32 for 337 yards and 4 touchdowns. He passed for two TD’s and ran for a couple more. McCoy is playing on another level right now, and he has the ability to dismantle defenses both by air and via the run, not to mention his other option in star running back Chris Ogbannaya.
Colt McCoy also earned the Texas school record for most touchdowns by pass, run or receiving as he now has a career 82 touchdowns. The old record was held by a kid named Vince Young who has 81. Not far away from the record is Longhorn alum- Ricky Williams who has 76 touchdowns to his credit.

Texas is favored early by 12.5 but that line may move by Saturday. Because OSU has not played anyone tough outside of Missouri who has fallen off the map lately, this game will be a true gut check for the Cowboys. I like the momentum and unbeaten-records that are coming into this contest, but I don’t see Texas slowing down.
Defense is the difference in this matchup as the Cowboys will need to make a statement early and if they don’t it will be a route by the Longhorns. Texas has proven in back to back weeks that they deserve to be No. 1 in the country.
The Cowboys may have a great season going as they have not been ranked this high since 1985, but I’m afraid the OSU fans will have to regroup after this weekend’s game. Both teams have similar numbers but it’s Texas who solidifies the numbers and shows the Cowboys why they are No. 1!
Wilson’s Pick: Both teams are a combined 13-0 ATS, but it will be Texas who covers and gets the big win in Austin. Colt McCoy has another “Heisman-Esque” day for the Longhorns as they roll 48-21.
