Updated Heisman Trophy Winner Odds

2008 Heisman Trophy Winner - Futures
By Jason Green at Predictem.com

The following odds can be found at Sportsbook.com (to win the 2008 Heisman Trophy)

Graham Harrell (+150) - Harrell (4,077 yds 36 TD) has put up sick numbers this year in guiding the Red Raiders passing attack, which is ranked #1 in the nation. Harrell will be facing fellow Heisman hopeful Sam Bradford this week, which is a huge game with BCS title implications. Harrell also has Heisman hopeful WR Michael Crabtree to throw to, so that helps his stats. If Harrell puts up some big numbers against the Sooners this Saturday it will be hard to overlook him for the award.

Sam Bradford (+150) - Bradford has not got the press that Harrell or Colt McCoy have in the Heisman race, but his numbers are legit (3,406 yds 38 TD) and he has a completion percentage of almost 68%. He can be the front-runner if he plays stellar this weekend against Texas Tech. The Sooners rank 1st in points scored per game and that all starts with the QB.

Colt McCoy (+300) - McCoy has been awesome in the dynamic offense of the Longhorns and he can kill teams with his arm (3,134 yds 30 TD) and legs (527 yds 8TD). His completion % is off the charts at 77.2%. McCoy has a great chance of winning if Oklahoma beats Texas Tech, which will probably put the Longhorns in the Big 12 Championship game and he puts up some legit numbers in that game.

Tim Tebow (+700) - Last season's Heisman winner Tebow had a slow start to the season, but has come on strong in the Gators current 6 game winning streak. He is leading the awesome Gators offense, which has averaged almost 50 ppg during the streak and outscoring their opponents by more than 39 ppg. Tebow's numbers are good (1,913 passing yards 19 TD 393 rushing yards 11 TD), but he already won the award and the guys above have better numbers.

Michael Crabtree (+1000) - Crabtree has been the best WR in the nation this year and he has had 13 straight games with at least 5 receptions and 1 TD and needs only one more game to tie the NCAA record. Crabtree has 1010 yds and 18 TD for the season. However, it will be hard to pass up teammate Graham Harrell, because even if Crabtree is putting up the numbers that means Harrell is as well.

Chase Daniels (+2000) - Daniel (3592 yds 30 TD) was once the Heisman front-runner, but 2 losses in a row to Oklahoma State and Texas hurt his chances. Still, the Tigers won the Big 12 North Division and if Daniels has a big game he could win the coveted award.

Max Hall (+3000) - Hall (3424 yds 34 TD) leads BYU's 7th ranked passing offense, but he has not got a lot of press this year and the Cougars strength of schedule hurts his chances. Add to the fact that Hall's numbers are not as good as Harrell, McCoy, or Daniels. Hall is a major long shot to win the award.

Mark Sanchez +3000 - Sanchez (2258 yds 26 TD) has decent numbers, but nowhere near the front running Heisman QB's, Plus, the Trojan's D has been given most of the credit for their recent win streak not their offense.

Knowshon Moreno (+4000) - Moreno has good numbers (1244 yds 15 TD), but the Bulldogs lost two games already and he is only averaging 5.9 yards per carry. Moreno will not win the Heisman this year, but he is projected to be a first round pick in next year's NFL draft.

Javon Ringer +4000 - OK, so Ringer does have 1548 yards (2nd in the nation), but he is only averaging 4.4 yards per carry and the Michigan State only has the 65th ranked rushing offense in the nation. Also, in the games the Spartans have played against legit teams (Cal, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Ohio State) Ringer failed to rush for 100 yards in any of them.
