Let's start by saying that the horn bet is a sucker bet and should only be placed for fun or if your up a ton in your gambling session. Lastly, it's a great toke for a dealer because it gives them a shot to win big bucks off of a very small investment.

Horn bets are one roll wagers that your betting a 2, 3, 11 or 12 will roll on the dice. To place this bet, you must put your chips (the horn is bet in units of 4, $1 on each bet) down on the table and instruct the stickman that you'd like a horn bet.

If a 2, 3, 11 or 12 rolls, you will be paid at 15-1 odds. The dealer will remove your $1 from your other three losing bets while paying you and leaving your $1 up on the winning horn bet.

It could best be said that a horn bet is another way of calling out four separate wagers in one call.

Something else you may hear at the craps table is what is called a "horn high bet". The horn high is the same as a horn bet, your covering 2, 3, 11 and 12 however your asking the dealer to place you "high" on a certain number that you designate.

Example of a horn high bet:

You throw down a red $5 chip. You ask the dealer for a horn high YO (11). He will place a dollar on the 2, a dollar on the 3, a dollar on the 12 and two dollars on the eleven. Many players do this in lieu of getting $1.00 back as change and because it gives them more action.
