Dice Probabilities

Dice Probabilities
by Predictem.com Staff

If your serious about playing craps you need to know what the dice probabilities are in order to make wise bets. If your not familiar with the odds of each bet and the possible combinations that can come up with every roll of the bones, you're in trouble and will likely be making poor bets which will shorten your experience at the casino, leaving you with an empty wallet.

As an example, rolling snake-eyes (2) is quite a bit more difficult than rolling a 6. The reason for this is that there are more probabilities of hitting the six than the two. As you can probably imagine, if a bettor gets down on a 2, it is going to payout more if it hits than if you were to bet on a six.

*Note: If you request to place a bet on the 2 (snake-eyes) or 12(aka: box cars or midnight), it is only a one roll bet. The same thing goes for 3 and 11 which are field bets. *Note: Field bets are always also one roll.

Every time a person rolls the dice the seven is most likely to come up. That is because there are six different combinations on the dice to create a roll of a seven:
1-6
2-5
3-4
4-3
5-2
6-1

There are five ways to make a six and eight which have the same odds and same probabilities which are:
1-5
2-4
3-3
4-2
5-1

and for the 8:
2-6
3-5
4-4
5-3
6-2

There are four ways to make a 5 or 9:
1-4
2-3
3-2
4-1

and for the 9:
3-6
4-5
5-4
6-3

And lastly, there are 3 ways to make a 4 or a 10:
1-3
2-2
3-1

and for the 10:
4-6
5-5
6-4
