it's not the cable companies' fault in areas like yours and mine. you can't charge an extra 1.10 for a basic channel that basically only a handful of people are even going to watch. sure there are a lot of big10 alumni, but that is a miniscule amount of the general population in texas or california. single family homes with only a mother, houses that have no one who cares about the big10...etc.....probably make up about 95 percent of the cable audience outside the midwest. you can't make people pay an extra 1.10 for something 95 percent of the people aren't even going to watch.
now i could see MAYBE carrying it in the midwest, but still, the problem is that nobody is going to watch women's volleyball or men's swimming/diving etc....and outside of maybe some coaches shows, 100 percent of the programming outside of football and hoops is pure garbage..........
