NCAA 1st round Action

Going to put all my picks in one thread for Thursday and Friday's games ...I know this might be earlier but lines move big time and I want to take advantage of some possible soft lines, and a lot of these games really jumped out at me, so here it starts ......lets start the jump off with

VCU +7, 2 units... I really like this one a lot for one reason and its the point guard matchup, Mayner is going to give Paulus fits, because Paulus is going to be a wreck with this pressure on him, the only thing I am worried about is if Duke shoots well, but this isnt the same Duke team, and I really think they struggle with the athleticism and pressure of VCU..I think this is going to be a close game and I smell an upset, but Duke prolly prevails 65-61

Tennessee-Long Beach State O166.5, 1 unit ... picked this up last night and the O/U keeps rising, I believe its at 171 right now..Both of these teams like to run and like to score, and neither really play great defense, this should be a fun matchup and one hell of a shootout.... looking for a 91-85 Tennessee type of win..This LBST team is fun to watch and so is Tennessee, this really should be one of the best games in the tourney!!

im going to add more and I am going to try and give a nice write up for each game I am playing because at this point I feel just picking teams doesnt give all the cappers out here enough information and all the info we can get can really help us all out, so I'd love to hear any kind of input you have for my picks and I really hope we can all help each other out this NCAA tournament and make some money

Niagara -8.5, 2 units..Niagara is riding an eleven game winning streak as they rolled through MAAC play at the end of the season and have been handling their competition ....on neutral courts(3-0 in MAAC tourney)... and it has been able to beat competition much better than the Rattlers by more than 8.5 points...I looked up A&M's stats and when they played teams around the midmajor rpi of niagara A&M ran into some blowouts...I think that Niagara plays a great game with the national spotlight to show that they are better than a 16 team and can even give Kansas a game, and I really feel the players will feel disrespected and want to respond ....Niagara is going to come out fired up and control this from start to finish IMO and pull out a 84-66 type of game...

Oral Roberts +6.5... Oral Roberts is the type of team that the top seeds didnt want to see, they have a superstar, and they have the capabaility of beating good teams... beat KAN at KANSAS...played a very good Memphis team last year to a close game..Wash State kind of backed into the tourney going 4-3 in their last 7 after after 21-4 start...Wash State lacks big game experience and tourney experience, I am not sold on this team, and with the potential matchup problems, Ill glady take the 6.5 here...Wash St by 3-5

UNLV +118, 1 unit, Georgia Tech is a young inexperienced team that has had its problems away from home, while UNLV on the other hand has won a bunch of games away from home and are coming into the tourney with a nice winning streak...These guys got experience, good coaching in Kruger, and have shown the ability to win big games away from home(HAW, TT, and NEV)...running with the rebels here

Marquette +114, 1 unit... Marquette has the advantage here IMO in all positions and I am expecting Domenic James and company to have a big game after last years disappointment in the NCAA tourney, and this Marquette team has shown that can play with teams and they have shown they can win on the road with wins at Duke, Pitt, and Lousiville...dont see MSU pulling this one out, their hopes lie on neitzel and i think their tourney ends early again this year

UNC -26, 1 unit...been kind of unkind in my judgment of ACC teams, and it bit me in the ass last night with NCST and Drexel... This team has been the best team in the ACC all year and their sheer athleticism makes them one of the toughest outs in the tournament there is no reason to think that UNC doesnt come out and roll EKENT by over 30 points, I mean when this team subs McDonalds All Americans with McDonalds All Americans ... a route!!

Old Dominion +114, 1 unit... I think Butler is a little over-rated IMO and same with the whole Horizon conference.... Butler was very smooth and good at the beginning of the year but down the stretch it seemed that the wheels fell off a little bit, Butler has some great players, but I think ODU is the better team in this matchup, and if they can contain Graves, ODU should handle Butler!!

Boston College -132, 1.32 to win 1... no write up BC wins, dont want to get backdoored, so im playing ML

BYU +122, 2 units ... Really like the MT WEST this year, thought it was a strong conference and its time to make money off these teams as they face teams the public is most likely to pound(X and GT)...BYU will play their game and should control a tough X team

Villanova PK, 2 units ... Gonna ride the better CATS team in this one, Nova has been able to take down some good competition and we are expecting Nardi to play, and when Nardi plays this Villanova team plays better, because it takes pressure of Scottie Reynolds and it seems like jacks up less shots when Nardi's in the lineup... Difference maker is Curtis Sumpter, getting back to strength and trust me this guy wants to make an NCAA tourney impact after having to sit out the last two years, and only playing one game in which he outplayed Danny Granger of New Mexico, IMO...Pressure might be on Tubby, and im sure they'll want to pull one out for him, but this team has had plenty of chances to pull out big games for him, and they didnt .... NOVA 72-66 type of game... remember this Cats team(NOVA) shoots great from the line, and thats huge in winning games and covering spreads!!

Davidson +7.5, 1 unit ... gonna ride Curry, expecting Davidson to keep it within the 7 even tho I think the Terps pull this one out down the stretch

Gonzaga +113, 1 unit... Going with the hot team here, Zags found themselves since losing top player, in Heytvelt or however you spell his name... DJ white will cause some problems, these guards are lights out and if the Zags catch fire, they roll!!

ML Parlay: 4 unit: Pitt-600, Louisville -242, Georgetown-2600, Oregon -360, A&M -1100 ... 100 to win 138.66(4 to win 5.6 units around there)

ZONA -2.5, 1 unit ... Will the real Arizona please stand up??
VA TECH +1.5, USC +2.5 teaser, 1 unit...picking against the last two teams to make tourney
