good number there got you the push.........if they had shown up in the 2H or held that 6 point lead with :45 left you probably would have had this easily.....

Exactly, I lose (in this case got lucky and push) every close one. What's the point?

I have better things to spend my time and money on that this bull****....

stif- i am by no means pushing my strange method of handicapping on you, but you might look at doing things the way i do them if you keep getting nailed on these types of situations. I take a favorite that has a very high rate of success and put it with another team and use the fat favorite to allow be to buy a few points. for instance, i had UNO today, but i played them on the ML. And instead of playing them at -155, i played them at -117 by using WKY who was pretty much going to destroy Troy at home today 99 out of 100 times to take down the odds. The greek is a really good book to do this at, so is sportsbook.com. The other thing to do is to suck it up and play the ML's.

To each their own. I have played that system now going on my 4th year and i have made out very well every season doing so. Im up about 30+ Units in posted plays so far this year and haven't had a losing day yet (there is the jinx that will probably cost me...lol...so knock on wood). It's a lot easier to pick winners than it is to decide if a team is going to cover 4 points. I know i am about the only person that plays this way on the site, but i have done pretty well playing that way, so just tossing it out there. Another example is the NWU game yesterday. I really didn't feel comfortable with only getting 3 points, but i felt very comfortable getting 5-6 points....so i played NWU +7 with Drake on the ML...another team that was going to win their game at home 99 out of 100 times (they won by 19 and i also had them -6). So i got the W while everyone else on NWU took the loss. It's unconventional but it has worked going on 4 years now. And im still only laying -130's, -120's, -110's, +100's with most of these plays.

but i do hear you on the frustration factor. i have long told boiler that the amount of time spent doing this and the return is a joke, so you better be gambling with money you can lose and have it be your freetime activity. if you equate it to an hourly wage, even people who win at this are probably making about 2 bucks an hour gambling.
