didn't cap anything and probably won't again for a while but i have actually had this game circled going back a couple of weeks and am going to step out big on it....and figured might as well post it....

UND -2 -120.........15Units......MARQ 6-0 big east ledger is really a fraud IMO. They have yet to play any of the really top tier teams and the only big east road games they have played are against Rutgers and some other shlepp.......they have wins over depaul, providence, cincinnati, rutgers and a decent win over West Virginia, but that was at home. In fact MARQ has only played 4 true road games all year long. They have a 12 point loss at Tennessee, a buzzer beater win at NCState, a 5 point win at Rutgers and a 9 point win a providence. They've only played 2 teams in the top 25 and both of those were at home. ND had their 45 game home court streak snapped versus Connecticut and i think that sets up well for today's play. 2 days later and no time to dwell on that loss. MARQ is a very good basketball team but ND is a good team as well and didn't win 45 straight at home for nothing. I think MARQ is over valued here and i think ND is undervalued at home. I look for ND to roll in this one.

not surprising because the strongest plays in CBB year in and year out are small home favorites and the absolute worst plays in CBB are small road dogs (with that being said i am sure MARQ will cover tonight...).

I actually think ND is a bigger fraud. They usually play nobody in preconference games at home which is a good chunk of their unbeaten streak.

i never said MARQ was a fraud, i said them being 6-0 in conference was fraudulent. and i never said UND was a great team, but they are a good basketball team who has played well at home over the past few years. They had wins over Marquetter, UConn, WVU, Pittsburgh and Syracuse last year at the joyce center. All of which finished in the top half of the big east and were tournament teams.

I've said all year I think Marquette is most undervalued team in the Big East and I thought the most overrated were Louisville and Notre Dame. ND is proving me correct, not so much Louisville, lol... That being said, Marquette is in a tough spot here tonight IMO.

If ND loses tonight, their season could spiral out of control. They could go 0-6 on the road (Pitt, Cincy (easiest), UCLA, WVU, Prov and CT). They also have home games left with Louis and Villa. Lose 6 of those 8 plus a Big East tourney game and you have 13 losses and a RPI that may not be better than 70.

something is apparently missing on this team and it's more than their defense. thought that was a great spot tonight for them and would still make that play again if i had to.

i do agree, though, that i can't see this team beating anyone of quality in the big east at this point, and they will lose every road game they play from this point forward i would say. They needed at least one of these marquee home games and didn't get them.

on a side note, this CBB forum is a morgue this year. you rarely find more than 10 people who post on any given night and it has lost some quality posters from seasons gone by. sign up rate at this place is slim to non existent which probably accounts for the lack of people posting. too bad. CBB forum used to be a lively forum with some good input and posters.

hopefully will have some more time for CBB this season at some point.........
