Nigel's A10 -- First Round

Dayton -1.5 v. Charlotte -- I will preface this pick...yeah, I said preface...by saying that I really dislike Dayton. I'm an X fan...its in my blood. Neither here nor there, I like the Flyers tomorrow. They have played some really solid ball (for the A10) recently. They played very well against X, beat Temple @ Temple (UD hadn't won an away game expect Bonaventure until they beat Temple), and finished off by beating SLU @ home....against a matchup where they were not favored.

These two teams are not great, by any stretch. But Lutz might be a lame duck...Gregory, on the other hand, may have his distractors, but I think he's a pretty solid coach. Think that wins out here. Not to mention that Charles Little has now decided to play like a beast in the A10. Little and Roberts will get this done tomorrow.

****One has to understand...if Charlotte hits their 3's, they are tough to beat. But I think Gregory will make the proper adjustments and win tomorrow. These teams split in the regular season....UD squeaked out a win at home....Charlotte beat them by 21 @ Charlotte...but they couldn't miss a 3 in the first half. I think UD will figure out a way to win. It may not be pretty....but I like the Flyers.

Fordham -8.5 v. Richmond -- Fordham wants to make some noise. Richmond is happy to be there. Fordham by DDs, IMHO. GL! Probably the last play today. I want no part of SLU/Duquesne and those Philly schools...who knows what's going to happen there....ah, hell. If Fordham covers, may be back to take a closer look at St. Joe's.

with ya on Dayton, Charlotte blows this year, this is the one game I like the most for tomorrow, I live down in Brigantine, which means the A-10 tourney is 5 mins away for me, and I am gonna go over for the semis to check out your Musketeers ... and I will prolly be there tomorrow night to watch a Philly battle... well hopefully we nail this one tomorow

Thanks, guys. Charlotte is such a wild card....but the pick is more of a tip of the cap to Dayton. They are playing much better basketball right now than they were in late January/early February.

Philly, was looking at Fordham. Seems like a good pick. They won @ Richmond by 3 back in January. Haven't played them twice, so you don't have to worry about the whole "its hard to beat a team three times" theory. At the same time, Richmond has recently beat St. Joe and URI...but they were both @ home. I've got to wonder if Richmond isn't just happy they made it to Atlantic City....their last game against URI got them to the A10 tourney. Its hard to imagine they match up well with Fordham on a neutral floor. Man, now I'm starting to like the Rams more and more.
