Think this game is going to be a close one. I think Fridge will try to slow down the pace with his running game and his history of success in bowl games is a positive. Winning bowl games is beginning to become a habit for Friedgen, who beat Tennessee in 2002, West Virginia in 2003, and Purdue in 2006 by an average margin of 26 points, while yielding a total of only 17 points.

FG game either way, IMO.

Boston College -5.5 vs. Michigan State 1.5 units

The ACC generally dominates this bowl game. The ACC has won the last Champs Sports bowls by a combined score of 150 to 57 (avg. score 37-14). Matt Ryan is putting his skills on display for NFL scouts in what will be his last CFB game. Expect him to be on point.

Michigan State always seems to find a way to lose. They will keep it close with BC but the Eagles' top-ranked rush defense in the country will slow down Caulcrick and Ringer and force MSU into bad situations.

Plus, its Boston's year in sports, no?

If you added up the celtics, pats, bruins, sox, BC CBB and CFB records for 2007, it would be 177-88. In other words, Boston fans enjoy 2 wins out of 3 games.
