Not good at all.....but me still loves the college gridiron! Since the crystal ball is cracked I'm using the dart board this week and the Ouija board next week. Hell, I'm even entertaining the idea of Tarot Cards! Gotta keep plodding along and I'm backing off the picks a little each week.


PURDUE +4 @ Northwestern (SU winner in my feeble mind, Boilers hung in vs. OSU and PSU)
NAVY +3.5 vs. Pitt (Middies and Kai Po are butta)
TCU +1.5 vs. Byu (Horny Toads get some respect with low line with lots of Cougar injuries)
AIR FORCE -4.5 @ Unlv (Flyboys own this series & are 5 - 1 ATS in their last 6 vs. The Rebels)
WESTERN KENTUCKY PK v.s Florida Atlantic (Hilltoppers played good in a rough stretch of schedule = good prep)
UCONN PK @ Rutgers (Huskies not afraid of any road trip & are 5 - 0 - 1 ATS and 4 - 2 SU vs. the Scarlet Knights)
WESTERN MICHIGAN +3 @ Central Michigan (Broncos always tough & 4 - 1 - 1 ATS in the series, plus: Chipps QB Dan LeFevour, the 2007 MAC Offensive Player of the Year, left in the second quarter with an ankle injury after completing 10-of-11 passes for 106 yards and two touchdown passes against Temple last weekend)

JoeP- GL!....you know i had CMU last Saturday and they went up 14-0 quickly and then all of a sudden they did nothing and i was kind of wondering what happened. I didn't find out until last night that he had left the game. That game would have been a blowout had he stayed in there. If he can't go vs. WMU then i like that side. IF he goes then i like the Over potentially. 35-31 CMU last year at WMU so leaning to WMU to return the favor.

And what's up with the MAC LEast....only 1 team at .500 and the rest below .500. Miami(oh) has been worse than Awful this year as has BGSU. Those 2 teams were supposed to battle it out for first. The MAC West is loaded and it's too bad that somebody will be left out of the championship game on that side. Nobody from the East deserves to get into that game based on the way things have gone so far.

And Jarvis FINALLY played but he sure didn't do much vs. Ohio. 14-50 on the ground and 2-12 via the pass. I was going to unload on KENTST if i could have confirmed he was playing but couldn't find anything in the newspapers (school or cleveland) that confirmed that so i layed off.

There's something to be said about the West this year. The East was supposed to be dominant but they have definitely crashed, but that division does have more parity between the teams this year with Buffalo and Temple being more competitive that ever. BG was disappointing with their loss at home to EMU after playing well at Boise and beating Pitt. Maybe they're back on track after coming back to beat Akron last week. Miami lost to a good Vandy team but then lost to Mich, UCinn out of conference then got shutout at home vs. Temple, but did play good on the road last week at NIU before losing....although I think that game was a bit of a let down for the Huskies after they went to Knoxville and gave UT a game.
The West will certainly dominate the East as they traditionally do. WMU, CMU and BSU are the cream of the crop as far as the MAC is concerned. In 7 MAC statistical categories the West has at least 3 teams ranking in the Top 5 slots (Scoring O 4 in Top 7, Scoring D 4 in Top 5, Pass O 3 in top 5, Pass D 5 in top 6, Total D 3 in top 5, Pass Efficiency D 3 in top 5, Pass D 4 in top 5). They only stats they rank lower are in Rushing O - 2 in the top 5, Rush D - 2 in Top 5, and Total O 2 in the top 5 which reflects the differing philosophy between the two conferences, the West is more wide open and spread while the East is a line up and run first with few exceptions.
Miami has certainly lost their luster and I don't think Shane Montgomery is gonna last down there unless something changes drastically. Also, look for Doug Martin to be out at Kent along with their AD who said at an executive meeting before the season that if Martin didn't win 5 games he was gone and so was he (the AD). It's ok, their AD is only good at hiring BB coaches! Solich has to be counting the days at OU too.....the only stable coaching jobs are probably at Buffalo, Temple, BGSU.....even JD Brookhart's days are numbered at Akron.

PITIFUL, you should have seen it! They kept giving Jarvis the ball on third and long expecting him to break one! They never ran him in the first quarter of the game and when they started to in the 2nd Otr. he ran for 9 and 8 yards on his first two carries. Then they faded him in the 4th after he ran well in the 3rd.....seems they favor too many QB draws with Edelmann. AND, they run that stupid bubble screen and that's where they lined Jarvis up, Edelmann threw the ball behind him 3x...two for small gains and one INC.

I hope that gives you an idea of what's going on....I could write a novel on the subject.....LMAO
