Default POY

LSU -25.5 vs. tulane

i know saying POY/POW is frowned upon but whatever. i don't post often but when I have a big feeling on a game like to share (i.e. hornets/heat last year). i'm from louisiana and go to LSU but from new orleans so i know these two teams pretty well.

some people say they get it at -30 which would be a little more quesitonable but -25.5 is a steal here.

this isn't the same tulane team that almost upset ECU or hung with bama. they're a beat up bunch who now have turmoil at quarterback and lost their best player and offensive threat in RB andre anderson. the ywere down 35-0 at the half against rice last weekend.

Quote:
"This is going to be a very difficult game," Toledo said. "We don't want Joe (the back up) to get demoralized. LSU is a really good football team and we're a beat up football team. I know they gave up some big plays (against Georgia), but obviously we're not capable of making big plays right now."

Among the injured for Tulane is running back Andre Anderson, who suffered a separated shoulder Saturday and is probably out for the season. Anderson was fourth in the country in rushing before Saturday with 852 yards.

The Wave probably also will be without left guard Nick Landry, who has a turf toe. He would be replaced by freshman Harris Howard.
ricky jean francois is going to be licking his chops as will the rest of a defense that was embarassed last week.

12 true freshman already see time for the wave and 3 will be starting on offense saturday.,

the wave special teams is awful especially the field goal game. they had one blocked last week.

miles' record against non-conference foes is impeccable. consider this:

Quote:
LSU coach Les Miles is 16-0 in non-conference games with the Tigers and in those 16 contests, only five teams - Arizona State, Notre Dame, Louisiana Tech, Ohio State, and Appalachian State - have reached double-figures in points against LSU. In five non-conference games in 2007, LSU outscored its opponents 222 to 50 in going 5-0 against Virginia Tech, Middle Tennessee, Tulane, Louisiana Tech and Ohio State. In the 16 non-conference games the Tigers have played under Miles, LSU has outscored its opponents 581 to 129 or by an average of 36.3 to 8.1. This year, LSU has outscored its two non-conference opponents, 82-16.

when you spread tulane out like rice did last week they don't have the man power to keep up. rice was up 35-0 at the half. that is coach gary crowtons specialty- the spread offense. bama did NOT spread tulane out which played to their strengths on defense.

despite losing, they put up 38 on georgia and they racked up 500 yards of offense. no way the greenies with a banged up football team and without their best player/offensive threat with lsu coming off of a loss will be within 4 TDs of LSU. i know LSU has bama next week but there wont be any looking ahead after last week.

TIGERS 45-14
