Worst coached big game ever

I don't recall a worse cumulative coaching job than in this game....

that play before the half was just assinine with :15 left and 75 yards from the other goal line with a freshman deer in head lights QB. Should have gone to the locker room down 11 and regrouped. Think they want that play back now......

and then for ALA to come out and basically concede every offensive series as a 3 and out and lose all the momentum from the 1H is possibly even worse. ALA should have put the pedal down and stepped on TEX when they had the chance. Anytime you play not to lose you usually lose......

i agree. nice fake punt on 4th and 23 from inside your own 30 on that first series too, saben. i don't care what you saw on film with uncovered gunners, thats just an idiotic gamble. and mack brown is a stubborn fool for not only failing to take a knee to run the clock out to end the half, but trying to justify his decision during the halftime interview.

up 24-21 i saw that turnover coming from a mile away once they took possession inside their own 20. joe square had a helluva night hitting the favorite and the over, two bets that should have never had a chance.

that gilbert kid sure sacked up and brought his squad back admirably. too bad his receivers dropped about 4 passes they should have hauled in. no one could make a play to help him out.

one of the more disappointing national championship games i can recall.
