Default Bernie Mac Dead @50

Raucous Comedian Bernie Mac Dead at 50

AOLposted: 5 MINUTES AGO
CHICAGO (Aug. 9) -
Bernie Mac, the Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor and comedian who worked his way to Hollywood success from an impoverished upbringing on Chicago's South Side, died Saturday at age 50.
"Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital," his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement from Los Angeles.
She said no other details were available and asked that his family's privacy be respected.
The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently was hospitalized and treated for pneumonia, which his publicist said was not related to the disease.

At the age of 50, comedian-actor Bernie Mac has died after being hospitalized with pneumonia for nearly a week.
In the days before his death, publicists for Mac said he was responding well to his treatments.

Man, that is sad. Dude was a great actor and comedian.

Just goes to show, you never know when it's your time to go. 50 is obviously very young.

Enjoy each day like it's your last!

Unreal! The stories were that he was recovering and would be out shortly, then he's gone. Kevin nailed it, gotta live each day to the fullest because you never know. Very sad and a huge loss.
