Making $$$ on the Belmont

Is it really possible? Could this be one of the worst betting races of all time?

Big Brown will be 1/5, Casino Drive will be at best his morning line of 7/2 and possibly 5/2. On top of that, the "wise guy" horse will be Denis of Cork and even the public will back him and prob bring his odds down from 12/1 because of his impressive finish at Churchill and announcers talking about his worst to 3rd jaunt down the stretch. Then, we have Tale of Ekati who people will play simply because he's never lost at Belmont Park (2 for 2). At least it would offer some value if Casino Drive was 7-8/1 and Denis of Cork 15-18/1 and Tale of Ekati like 20-25/1 but it seems none of those will happen. Not to mention, the exacta and tri pools are all going to contain the same horses it seems to a large extent.

How are you guys gonna go about trying to make money of this???? I'm no seeing the point to be honest...

Need an uprising from Readys Echo, Macho Again, and/or Anak Nakal I guess to gain some value in the exotics.

Yea, I thought about that but I'm not much of a Pick 4 guy seeing as I'm still pretty gree nthe "the game". Birds, if you play a Pick 4 ticket, email me (or post it) early if you can cause I'm gonna be out all day either at Monmouth or and OTW. Casino Drive is likely to be scratched now that he stepped on a freakin stone.

D Wayne Lukas on Mike and the Mad Dog just was GREAT interview on WFAN if you guys want to DL it and listen. Had some great thoughts and suggestions about the Triple Crown and how it sucks now and it archaic, and said Casino Drive (1) will be scratched since they know he can't win now, and (2) wouldn't have hit in the Superfecta even anyway and is an inferior horse and totally overhyped.

He basically said the Preakness was the worst Triple Crown field EVER too, and this one is 2nd worst.

The only way to hopefully make any money would to get a long shot in to the exotics. A Casino Drive/BB Exacta would probably pay something like 4 bucks. I'm going to probably lay off and maybe play the under cards.

I am totally tossing CD. I think DOC is going to be bet down to an unreasonable like 8/1 number too, so I might toss him aswell to create value in a 1 with ... with .... tri bet.

If Casino Drive hits the board, I honestly will be shocked. He was damn near all out in the Peter Pan coming around the turn, and if he didn't get to split horses he was ****ed, IMHO. I'm siding with the people who think he's vastly overrated. That groupr was an atrocity if you look at who be beat. Ready's Echo and......... Yeaaaaa....

I took the field vs. Big Brown and get +320. I'm sure Big Brown will run away with this by 5 lengths...but, at over 3/1 odds for the entire field, I've got to take that value.

CD scratch caused that. Funny thing, I got my bet in early this week, NO +220, line was at NO +200, when I posted above, and now they are only listing-NO, and its at +180

To be fair, the fields that BB has faced haven't been that great either. Doesn't really matter now, though.


Didn't bet anything on the actual Belmont, hit a couple undercards here and there, around even for the day. Down just a bit. Tough start to the warm weather season for me this year. Gonna start playing some vertical exotics and see how they go for me for a while. Usually more of an exacta/Tri player, but the pick 3 and pick 4 are something I want to try out.
