as a Braves follower...this is almost as sweet as the Braves making the playoffs.

actually, as much as i hate the Mutts, i'm kinda pissed they didn't win today. there woulda been a 4 team playoff in the Nl and that's like once in a lifetime stuff. woulda been a blast to watch. owell as long as the Mutts aren't in the playoffs!

Way to give your team a chance Glavine. Just another way you've found to stick it to the Mets. You bleed Tomahawk Chop navy and red. Alwyas have, always will.

TOM GLAVINE SUCKS!!! GO BACK TO ATLANTA. YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN A BRAVE... EAT **** TOMMY. WE WON'T MISS YOU AT ALL.

And Willie, don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out either you incompetent, cliche speaking, optimistic piece of garbage.

Bring back Bobby V or bring in Manny Acta!!!!!! The Mets need someone who is a Met, not someone who wishes he was a Yankee (Willie). Willie is a fool. Jerry Manuel made half his decisions because Willie is so incompetent a manager. Rick Peterson needs to take some heat too. The pitching staff was an abomination the last month of the season. See ya Willie!!! See ya!!!

Carlos Gomez, Lastings Milledge, Mike Pelfrey and Phillip Humber (And anyone else they want) to the Twins for Johan Santana. Get it done Omar!!!

if willie is back next year i will not go to any games

cuse you heard omar after the game sounding like he's gonna keep randolph around??

the mets were winning in spite of willie, the guy is clueless when it comes to ingame management and you could not have said better cuse with the cliche speaking that **** is a joke, and how they let it boil down to HUMBER getting a start with 5 games left is rediculous. we only had one banged up pitcher in el duque but pelfry had already replaced him. willie and mota can take their ****in love affair elseware. there are hundreds of situations i can name where randolph left me baffled, for a guy that has been around baseball for his whole life it's amazing how many wierd decisions he makes.

are we stuck with delgado next year you think cuse? they should trade him to AL and pay most of his salary. i cant watch another season of that.

i think alou and milledge should hold down the OF again and we need a real clean up hitter, i dont know how to get one but we need a monster in the 4th spot, and have beltran and alou 56, wright was amazing this year, .360 average after all star break

i think we should go after santana real hard. the staff needs an innings eater badly so maybe even livan hernandez could be an asset. i wouldnt trade milledge in the deal for santana tho. i'm excited to see how he does in a full year next year i tihnk he's going to be a force soon.

we need to resign catillo and omar owes it to us to get an 8th inning pitcher that can close if wagner struggles.

so santana, cleanup hitting monster, shut down reliever is what we need but the first order of business is to fire willie so he can be the yankees batboy.

lol...OK, no problem.

While we're at it, for my Jays I'll take CC Sabathia, a power hitting catcher with a cannon arm, and an all-star shortstop, please.

you guys need to figure out your pitching staff first and foremost. Maine was just brutal in the 2nd half of the season. he did have a nice start on Saturday but other than that he was a walking bag of earned runs. Olly is Olly. Never will be an ace because he doesn't come up big in big games. He is a very serviceable 3 starter (maybe even a 2). Glavine is done. He had just 3 horrrrrrible starts to end his season. he is like 57 years old and you can't count on him going forward. Same with Pedro. He will miss half of next season with something i guarantee it. I agree with cuse- you need to find a real #1 starter or a very high quality 2 starter.

and i agree on Randolph. amazing what getting rid of a fool of a manager can do for your ball club. just ask the REDS.....

Yup...starting pitching was their perceived weakness before the season....during the season....and ultimately is what did them in.

hahaha i just read over what i wrote and realized how unrealistic it sounded. but omar is going to do some things, believe that, he will find a way to get a good reliever and we will make a trade for a big bat. i dont think he's going to put us in a position where we need alou and delgado to produce big again, alou is a liability and delcrapo sucks, your jays can have him back ,**** i'll kick in to pay some of his salary

Tom Glavine is hardly the reason the Mets choked. 5 hits today vs. Willis et al....1 run. He had a better winning pct than either Maine or Perez. 13-8 vs. 15-10 for both. I know you are pissed. I would go off too after the last 2 weeks...

J-Roll said it best. Phillies were the team to beat. Mets went 0-7 against the Phils in September.

GO PHILLIES

Biggest collapse in baseball history so it's hard not to be understandably pissed. I'll tone it down cause I'd like to hear what non-Mets think too. Here's my summation of Glavine (and I'm sorry but I won't tone down the Glavine part of my dismay. Where was the cab driver this year to save us from him?):

Glavine never let them be in the game, BB. He got one out and gave up 7 earned runs. His ERA over his past 3 starts was over 15 and he only went a combined 10 IP's in those games. Yesterday, HE was the reason they lost. He hits Hanley Ramirez TWICE in the opening at bat of the game (they didn't call the first one cause the umpire is a moron I guess). He gets Uggla to roll a weak grounder to 2nd for one out. Ok. Then, clean single in the hole for Hermida, likewise for Cabrera, Ross opposite field double to the warning track (in which Glavine makes a throwing error to 3rd). Then, bases empty single from Jacobs, Treanor walks, De Aza singles up the middle, and he hits Dontrelle Willis with a pitch...

The Mets never had a chance today. You can't expect your back-up catcher to have to hit a first inning grand slam to get your team back into the game. AWFUL job by Glavine and not 1 true Met fan will tell you they ever liked him and now we all hate him forever more...
