MLB Postseason Divisional Series Thread

no more exciting time for me than playoff baseball. sad my Braves didn't make it but still excited none the less. i'm gonna be playing some futures and also some regular sides and totals, but i'm planning to put all divisional plays in this thread and with each passing round make a new thread.

To win the world series:
1 Unit on the D-Backs (8/1)
1 Unit on the Rockies (7/1)


Futures on the divisional series':

2 Units on D-Backs to win the series (+110)
2 Units on Rockies to win the series (+115)
1 Unit on Indians to win the series (+165)


Individual Games for 10/3:

1 Unit on Rockies (+134)
1 Unit on D-Backs (-135)
1 Unit on UNDER 8.5 on Bo Sox/Angels EVEN


obviously i'm a big believer in the D-Backs and Rox doing well this post-season. my success is riding on their success. i think the D-Backs are still very underrated and disrespected, and there's a lot to be said for being so successful in so many 1 run games. i really love Webb and Davis at home in Games 1 and 2 then Owings to beat Marquis in Game 4. i'm just gonna ride this Rockies story until i see a reason to believe i shouldn't. i see no reason to believe why they and/or the D-Backs are not arguably the best team in the NL and my bets reflect that.

i can't wait for the post-season to get underway tomorrow, as i'll be doing this to get home by 3 and start the fun.

basically this is the only way i was gonna play the Phillies game as juice on the game is just ridiculous. a rookie going against the hottest team on the planet and he's a -156 fav? i like the Phillies in this spot but not confident enough to eat that much chalk. also, i'm hoping that this being the first time the Yanks seeing Sabathia is as big of an advantage as i'm thinking it might be. thanks GM. yea, it was probably stupid to assume that win before it was actually over, but from someone who's watched the Cubs quite a bit...you could tell they had quit long before the last out was gotten. plus, i'm a lazy bastard and just wanted to go to bed with no loose ends.

for Fri. 10/5:

i've been having a tough time with this NYY/Cle game. my initial gut was to back Pettitte and the Yanks but Cle is at home, vs a LHP, with arguably their ace this year on the mound. add to that their confidence is surely sky high as they got the monkey off their backs as of last night in crushing the Yankees 12-3. i think a new era of baseball is here and no longer is the Yankee mystique a factor. Pettitte is not the same guy who has been such a staple for the Yanks in all their postseason success, IMO. i think this game might turn into a slugfest as i'm not entirely sold on Carmona. it's not very wise to bet against the Yanks when you feel a slugfest coming on but that's just what i'm doing tonight. Indians ride the momentum from last night for a huge win to put them up 2-0. Carmona gets scuffed up a bit, but not enough.

in the Boston series, i just don't see the Angels hanging. this smells like a sweep to me. the Boston offense has a big night tonight as they continue to roll. i do think Dice-K is the most overrated pitcher in baseball though and also think he'll get scuffed up a bit. no side here but gonna play the over in this game as well.

for 10/6:

i'm tempted to not make any plays today and just let my divisional series future plays ride, but i really do like the Rockies to finish off the Phils tonight. i can't see any reason to believe the Phils have even a fighting chance. i'm really really impressed with this Rockies team. i liked this team coming into the playoffs, but i love them now. i'm also a little tempted to play the alternate RL, Rockies -2.5 (+190) but i don't wanna get greedy. the Cubs/Dbacks line is pretty much a joke...Cubs -190? i think the Cubs force a game 4 at least, but i don't think i like laying that much chalk on a team that looked as though they had given up last game. leaning towards the OVER in that game, but for now just one play and hoping my series plays cash big for me.

Rockies (-142) (2.84 Units to win 2 Units)

nice night as i hit my play on game 3 as well as my series plays on the Rockies and DBacks. i'm also assured of one of my WS futures to at least get to the WS. still have the Indians series play pending as well. in my sig i'm just gonna count the series plays as if they were a regular play. so for the night...
