I agree

I think PHI and LAA have a real good shot to sweep, and TB should beat whoever they face, but IMO big blue gets past the Flubs. Flubs bullpen will blow it somehow would be my guess. Kerry Wood, what a douche of a closer, LMFAO

Stif- the dodgers starters don't worry you at all? Lowe is solid but much much better at home and has almost a 4.50 ERA on the road this year. Then you get to Kuroda and Billingsly. Neither one has any post season pitching experience (not that it is the end all by any means but just a point) and Kuroda is as hot/cold as it runs. I actually am probably in the minority but i prefer the cubs lineup 1-8 to the doyers even with manny and jeff kent hitting 3/4. The Flubs had the 2nd highest average in the NL and led the NL in runs scored and SLG%. The dodgers had the best ERA in the NL but the cubs were a not too distant 3rd in the NL in ERA. Now the Flubs bullpen sucks ass i do agree in some spots. BUT Smarja and Marmol both have ERA's less than 2.50 and Wood is only at 3.8 i believe. They get in trouble when you have to go to the bullpen before the 7th inning and they trot out gas cans like gallaher and marshall. If the cubs starters can go 6+ their bullpen will be just fine. I just think that is a series that could literally go from a 3-0 sweep on either side to a 3-2 series in 5 either way. But in the end i lean to the Cubs with Dumpster, Lilly, Harden etc......and that offense. Just MO, though.

I think that the LAA are the best series play of the bunch. They are going to shove it right up BOS' ass in that series. They did it a few weeks ago in Fenway and they'll do it again. Night and day difference between the 2 teams that battled last year in the playoffs. Only worry on the LAA is that Lackey has pitched like **** lately other than that start in TEX. But the BOS bullpen might be the worst of any playoff team. They trot one gas can out after another excluding Papplebonbons.

PHI just has more than MIL unless Sabathia can go 9 innings on zero days rest 5 times.

TAM should take care of a tired whatever team that comes from the Central.

Samardjia gives up a run seemingly every time he comes in, and I think Kerry Wood is a bum. Bullpen meltdowns will roast you faster than anything in the post season, and Marmol is the only guy i've seen them parade out there that i'd have confidence in.

I honestly think the Dodgers line up and starters can hang in there, and when it comes down to the end, they have the advantage.

I'm by no means saying I think they'll just dominate the Flubs...but more or less i was saying i think when it comes down to it, the Flubs bullpen might just be their downfall.

As far as MIL/PHI goes, i don't think MIL has a chance in hell. MIL's best weapon (CC) is almost neutralized by the fact that the Phils often hammer the crap out of LHP. Now, once again, I'm not saying they are going to hammer CC, BUT, I think they can SCORE off him, and that's enough once MIL starts parading losers like Gagne out there to try and close things out. That, and the fact that MIL's other strength is their offense, and the PHI offense is even better. I see they are starting CC on 3 days rest AGAIN on Thursday. I know he's a big strong dude, but c'mon....there's a reason guys don't regularly do this....and he's gonna pay the price, i'd think.

Plus, MILW flat out proved they can't beat a contender. If they didn't have 70 wins over PIT and CIN, they'd be sub .500

I think TB will be fine because they have homefield, although them being young worries me....but MIN and CHW have BAD bullpens (minus Nathan), and that might burn them as well. There's no faster way to get ejected from the post season than bad pitching....so as long as TB doesn't use Edwin freakin Jackson, I like their chances to advance.

But what do i know, i've been wrong plenty of times before, lol

stif- i hear you but you can't be too bad a pitcher and have an ERA under 3 for the season. And smarja is 2. something. IMO they are fine as i said unless they can't get 6 out of their starters. Then they are really in for it if they have to bring in guys like gallagher.

And actually CIN took the season series from MIL including 4 of the L6........but they couldn't beat the PIT or WAS this year

My opinion.... The Dodgers series line at +190 (5dimes) is asinine. Probably jinxing myself but I cannot remember a more out of touch line.

I think the Dodgers starting pitching is the best in MLB. Lowe, Kuroda, Billingsley and an underrated (even for him as a HOF pitcher) Maddux. Three of them are better or as good as their matchup pitchers Dempster, Z and Lilly. Only Harden I would give an edge over Kuroda. Note, however that Kuroda has been lights out vs. the Cubs this year. (by the way, I respect Dempster,....I just think Lowe is as good.....)

I also guess I am in the minority, but I feel that Mil has a decent shot vs. Philly. They have the bats (power) and respectable starting pitching. Philly is going to use a 3 man rotation. Not crazy about Gallardo starting game one though. And I am waiting for GasCan Lidge to show up.......

wow that is pretty steep. i expect that series to be the most competitive of all of them, IMO. worth a shot at that number for sure. I still like the Cubs in 5 but i would never lay -200+ with them in basically a pick'em series. Doyers have outscored opponents 135-80 something in september so not sure how that line is so inflated.

as for MIL, everyone has a shot. I don't like their rotation at all after Sabathia with Sheets done for the season. I think PHI has the better hitting lineup too.

who knows. ANA will take care of BOS, though.

Cubs are a huge pub team....I will admit, if I have to pick one team to win the whole thing, it would be them but no way should they be 2:1 faves in a five game series. Game 1 is critical to them.

Flyers, be careful when tossing around stats like the run differential. Dodgers haven't beaten a team over 500 since August. They're not going to be overconfident coming into the playoffs and are going to be really in for it against the best team in the NL, the Cubs.
