I'm reading its officially suspended.
I doubt they would call a complete game on a game of this caliber, they will probably continue sometime.

In regards of the books, I assume each book would treat its play based on the rules they have in place. I stay local, and my guy wouldn't pull some crap like that. One of the few benefits of dealing with a human rather than an online database.

looks like most, if not all, the online books are calling the rays' side a loser. complete b.s. such garbage.

That sucks. They probably weighed out their profit on each side and went with whatever was more profitable. So if the payout was smaller on a Philly win, then they put the "rule" into play. I'd like to hear more about this if anyone has any info...

There was controversy about this at the beginning of last season when mlb first put the suspended game rule in place. The books have been scoring it the same way ever since, which was reverting back to the score at the last completed inning.

What was unfair was how they made phi play defense in that slop, but didn't allow them the chance in the bottom of the 6th to try and take the lead. It was more than obvious they didn't want the series to end on a shortened game, and with good reason, as that's a pretty lame way to end a world series, but still not fair to the phi players to not allow them to finish the 6th under the same conditions. I mean its not like it just started raining in the bottom of the 6th inning. They intentionally played thru it until TB tied it, and I believe would have continued to do so had TB not scored in the top of the 6th, but as soon as they scored, bang, they called that bitch faster than a fat kid chasing a hostess truck....

Yep....its a loss.....I knew it as soon as the tarp came on the field....
I have been burned by this (and won by this before also but who remembers those)
Its an awful rule in a high profile game like the World Series....the game will be resumed...just let the action stay out there until the game is resumed.

Baseball has always been a grade the day the game is played type of thing though.

I wonder what would have happaned in a rain delay?
If Tampa does not score and the game is 2-1 then they can't suspend it would have to be a rain delay where in the regular season the game would be called 2-1 with Philly the winner.....but Selig said the rain delay would last to Thanksgiving if it had do.....so would the book "hold" that through the rain delay????

I see no reason for the books not to hold....but I understand why its a loss...it just sucks. Again I have won like this before so it just is what it is......but it still sucks ass to lose a game like that at 2-2 when you got Hammels out of the game.....I really like my chances at +168

Now when the game is resumbed...assuming they take action....probably looking at +120 or something silly like that.

I played it at Betus....they say:
Game 5 Resumption; No listed pitchers. All bets are action regardless of when game is completed. Game is tied 2 - 2 in bottom 6th.

Just like the real life world series....just a brutal ending to what was a pretty good season and pretty good post-season up to that point.

I bet against the Phillys just way too much...lol
