Lost a tough one with SF, but I did play Oak at the very last second.

Cle and Cin playing good ball with AAA players.

you also won a gift of a game in the Florida 9th inning meltdown. the **** all evens out over time. lose some tough ones, win some tough ones. lose on a last second safety, win on a garbage TD to end the game......lose on a joe nathan meltdown, win on a FLA closer meltdown.

nice job today and lately....

well.... Washington did blow the tie in the top of the ninth. I feel fortunate, but I also feel like I have had much worse losses.

Likewise, the Washington cover in the 2H yesterday was after LSU scored a TD with 90 secs left in the game. Yes I was lucky, but I was on the verge of getting backdoored anyway.

I wish it did man. Look back over my baseball season and find as many lucky wins as tough losses. It won't happen, and won't even be close. I would think it probably evens out more in ATS sports like football and basketball, but in mlb, it's just not the case, not if you play mostly dogs and/or unders.

Backdoor covers really don't happen all that much for dogs though, at least not from my experience. It's far more likely for a fave to add on a late TD to cover a line than for a team down 17 late in the 4th to punch one in to cover the +11 or whatever. In addition, you can have a team down 13, getting that +11, midway thru the 4th, who gets down in the red zone, gets to 4th down, and does not kick the covering fg for obvious reasons because they need 2 TD's at this point, they turn it over on downs....and then the other team basically runs the clock out, and therefore no backdoor cover.

Same goes for hoops. Faves often end up covering lines they weren't really in position to cover the whole game because of the foul-a-thons at the end. That happens 10x more often than some guy hitting a couple late 3's to cover a line that the dog was never really in position to cover.

Same goes for football/basketball under players. How often have you been screwed on an under by some garbage scores at the end of a game, unnecessary fouling (when the game is long since decided....not when it's still a reasonable margin when a few missed FT's could help the team doing the fouling to get back in it), or OT?

At the same time, how many times have you been screwed on an over that just didn't get there? Once a season? Maybe never?? How would you even get "screwed" on an over not getting there? Red zone turnovers in football taking points off the board i suppose would be one example, but there aren't nearly as many ways, nor does it happen nearly as often.

And that's my entire point. Dogs and unders will always take way more bad beats than faves and overs, no matter what the sport....therefore people who are primarily dog and/or under players will come out on the tough side of things far more often.

But I guess you just gotta keep after it.

Could not agree more, Stif. Dogs are more apt to get screwed in bases, probably because they are bad enough to be dogs....
