Afternoon plays...

RANGERS (-118) = *2.95 Units
- Rangers are on fire at the plate. Vs righties, they're even hotter. I don't see ol Batista givin them anything too trickey. Looking for a double digit game here, 7-4 wouldn't surprise me. Ranger bullpen has been solid as well, and should keep any lead after 5 innings.

RANGERS/MARINERS (OVER 9) = *1.68 Units

ASTROS (+180) = *1.5 Units
- Not a play on Woody, that's for sure, but a play on the Astros bats. Berkman and Caballo should make Hamels sweat. Too much value here not to snag.

Here's tonight's early picks...

ROYALS/ORIOLES 1st 5 Innings (UNDER 5) = *2.3 Units
- Orioles don't hit lefties, and the Royals... well they don't hit much at all. Both games in this series were blown by the Royals bullpen. Odalis knows he needs to bounce back and pull things together today, I like him through 5.

MARLINS (+112) = *2 Units
- Like the hotter Marlins bats behind Olsen than the cooling Braves with Davies. Should be his last start before Cormier comes back. That kind of future messes with a pitchers head.

CARDINALS (-133) = *3.06 Units
- Suppan isn't goin to show the Cards anything they haven't already seen with him. Wells is looking good, as long he keeps those walks down, and should keep the Brewers in check while Suppan and the rest of the brew crew get lit up.

Had big write-ups for tonights games, but explorer closed on me and I lost it all, so here's the short & sweet versions.

- Don't see Rasner/Blanton bringing anything more than last night. 9 run game last night with alot of good bullpen pitchers being used.

ROCKIES (+109) = *2.44 Units
- Like Cook in his 2nd time against the D-Backs over Livan. Rockies outscored the D-Backs 23-13 in their previous series. I like that trend to continue into tonight.

PADRES (-120) = *3.6 Units
- Peavy is just too good for the Dodgers. Schmidt is a 3-6 with that 6.65 ERA in 12 starts against the Padres over the past 3 years. With the way he's done in his first two starts, don't see any reason that won't continue. Padres wisely saved their bullpen guns for tonight.

PADRES 1st 5 Innings (-120) = *2.4 Units
- See above. Just some insurance with Peavy.

He's 4-0 against the Dodgers in last 7 starts, 1.88 ERA, 10 BBs, 56Ks, and holding them to a .202 AVG. One of those wins coming in Dodger Stadium. Only man on that roster who's hit him hard is Gonzo, and he can't hit a homer every game. Furcal is just getting back into the swing of things, tough to do against big Jake. Peavy is too good when they got Schmidt on the mound IMO.
