Back from my weekend away. We did not end up catching a pirate game while away as both Saturday and Sunday’s games were rained out. On Friday I lost yet another parlay, lost my moneyline play again and went 2-1 with my favorites. Lost overall for the day, but still on the plus side. Still trying to figure out what is working in mlb so far, and I cannot yet. It seems like some big dogs are coming in, while small favorites seem to be the right side.

No day games on Monday, figures I am off work today. Here is my entire card for Monday.


Mets +100 vs Phillies…………I hate going against my phillies, but I really think there is too much pressure on them when they are playing at home. I love Garcia, I think he was a great pickup, but coming off the dl this early, and the cold and windy weather might not be easy for him. His counterpart, Maine has dominated the phillies in all three of his starts, all coming last year. He is 3-0, with an era under 2.00 vs my phillies. These games are almost starting to feel like must wins, even this early for the phillies. Add the fact we are playing the Mets and they are an underdog, and I have what I feel is a winner.

San Fran +120 vs Colorado…………..I hate Barry Bonds and the Giants, but I cannot pass up Zito getting +120. He is always very capable of a great game and maybe even though I hate Bonds, he might be finding his groove after hitting two HR’s in one game vs the pirates. Giants in my opinion are not that great of a team, but neither are the rockies. Good value in my opinion.


I am going to try one more parlay….if it loses I am done with parlay. As you can see, I am 0-6 in parlays. I did very well playing two big favs together last year, but it is not working. If I lose this one, I will take a break from those parlays for a while. I know they will start winning, just does not seem to be working right now.

Detroit vs Kansas City
Atlanta vs Washington

For starters, it is Detroit vs Kansas City and the game is at Detroit. Kansas City once again a bad team. Detroit’s Verlander career is 3-0 with an era of 0.86 vs the Royals. Hard to go against those numbers.

Part of the reason the braves are off to such a great start is they seem to play the nationals about every day, or at least it feels that way. In addition to the first place braves playing the worst team in baseball, the braves got James throwing who is off to a fantastic start at 2-0 with an era of 0.82. Should be another winner.


Pittsburgh +115 vs St Louis………I must be crazy taking the pirates again. Every year I seem to find one take I take all the time and they cost me money. It is starting to look like it is the bucos who are doing it to me this year. They have Snell pitching who is their best pitcher. Bucs have a better road team than at home this year so far, and that is the opposite of last year. The cards are the same way, better on the road so far. Almost feels funny this line is this low being at St Louis. I think there is a reason for it and that is the pirates on going to win tonight.



I am overdue for a great day. I have had a bunch of very small losing days and a couple of decent days and only one really horrible day so far. I can smell a 4-0 coming on today or real soon thereafter.
