I rarely do this, but feel fairly good about this LIVE 'DOG play.

Los Angeles scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning to steal Friday's game 6-5 in San Diego, the second game in three nights Padres' closer Trevor Hoffman has blown. The first one he blew in Arizona seems to have had a lingering effect on the team.

San Diego hasn't won since that blown save and you have to wonder is his, and the team's, faith is shot in the closer.

The Dodgers have won three of their four meetings with the Padres this season and they are 7-1 in their last eight road games. The Friday win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Dodgers.

Brett Tomko goes for the Dodgers tonight and he's 0-1 with a 2.65 ERA this season. He'll go up against the Padres' Greg Maddux (1-2, 4.24 ERA).

Tomko last faced the Padres on May 4 last season and threw seven shutout innings, giving up five hits. He threw 14 innings against San Diego last year, giving up two runs on 10 hits.
