gl today STIFF
agree 100% on your rationale for both of the picks, also with the Fish, if you look at their body language it seems like they are completely uninterested, i mean getting swept by the lowly nats and getting it taken to them as well.... For a sub.500 team, the Cubs sure as hell get a little too much respect IMO, Ramirez and Lee might not be in lineup tonight as well, and their pen sucks...Mets bats looked nice yesterday and I have the feeling Marquis is gonna come down to earth, and teh Mets bats sure can do that

I agree about Marquis. The Cards kept the guy off their post season roster last year for good reason IMO. The guy just isn't that good. Every pitcher has a few good games, or a good run, but in reality, in the end he's average at best. He has been his whole career, and he, and the Flubs are getting way too much respect all season long.
I honestly would have bet the Mets at -200 tonight, as I think they will win this game nearly every time. We'll see how it turns out. As far as the Fish go, IMO they are still riding their unexpected finish last season in the eyes of the public. They look at them as a good team, when in reality, they are not. They're not even a .500 team. Same goes for Willis. He has an ERA of 5.40. That's not good. In comparison, Odalis Perez, a guy who just about everyone agrees sucks, has an ERA of 6.05, and that being against much tougher AL lineups with no pitcher batting and "free" outs. IMO laying a bet on the Fish tonight is a classic example of betting on what might happen judging by past performance, against what should happen judging by the present.... |
