Shiner.......
Stars are a rating from 0-5... Derived from the comparison of all the era,af, etc..Basically if the difference are greater than a predetermined value then that particular star data is given a point.... Points (for lack of a better name) use the same era stuff etc. but also use the weighting factors ie difference between first data & last 3....Thus 0-10 I find this particularly helpful when run prediction differentials are within 1 run or less (as many are today) , so then check the star, point values to see what would be the favourable wager... Case in point Cubs / Mets 3.7 - 4.4 ...Mets have values of 3 & 6, Cubs 0...The lean would be to Mets... Also aa is average runs against, af ave. for, bp is bullpen Hope this helps....GL... ![]()

K...do you take in factors such as series home vs. away? how about projected pitcher strength at home vs away. some pitchers much more at ease at home, some could care less where they're throwing. just a few questions that i have. thanks for the postings, they do help in determining some of my plays.

The data analyzed is for all games, so averages finally work themselves into the equation as more games are played...
Thus I ignore the particular stats you propose, but I would take them into account for your evaluation of any particular game... As stated before I just use raw data, so peculiarities & also recent injuries are not evaluated.... GL... ![]()
