Five straight nights losing. I went 1-2 dropping 1.12 units last night, losing my only favorite and splitting my dogs. I think the odds are finally catching up with me after a great first few months. Need to turn this around quickly before I start talking about how football cannot get here quickly enough. I know we have all said that once we start losing in bases. Here is today’s card. Since I have been losing I am going to try something different. I am going to take a few of those favorites over -150 that I won’t touch, and play the dog in that game. I have a feeling there are some winners in those games.


Phillies +155 vs Houston………………Normally, if this line would have been under -150 I would have been on Houston, even as high as -149 I would have taken them with Oswalt on the hill. Something tells me I would have lost. Those are the tye of favorites that will kill your bankroll. Phils have a tendency to win games they should not and lose games they should win this year and they have beaten some good teams on the road, they swept the Mets and Braves on the road recently, so they do have a chance. It is not like I am going out on that big of a limb.

Atlanta +135 vs Dodgers…………….Normally this is another favorite that I would be on. Dodgers continue to play well, while the braves are just doing so so. I have always been a big Randy Wolf fan, so to get him at home at this price would normally be a play for me, but I have been losing and will go with the underdog braves. Sort of fading myself I guess.


Pittsburgh +140 vs Milwuakee……………..Sure the brewers are the better team and should win this game, but..as bad as the pirates are, they throw in a good game once in a while. No way the brewers should lose a game like this. These are also the kind of games that kill you. A decent sized favorite (-150) playing on the road. I am just going to stick with the dogs today and take my chances.

One good thing about playing three dogs like this today, with +135 being the smallest, is that even one win and I would only lose .65 units at the worst. I can live with that. Surely at least one of these is a winner and hopefully two.
