Default Tater, Round-Tripper, Yard, 4-Bagger Contest

What the ****...might as well make it interesting....going with a couple lefties and that short porch in right.

Prince Fielder +390
Hopefully the fat bassard doesn't have a heart attack before the finals.

Justin Morneau +613
Playing a hunch.

1/2 Unit Each

Alexis Rios +1400 - 1/4 Unit
Incredible value, and I wanted to add a righty.

Vlad Guerrero UNDER 6.5 HRs first round +110 - 1 Unit
Fade, fade, fade.

Added Rios at a staggering +1400...if righties do indeed have the advantage, then he's as good as any of 'em.

I added him as well after what you wrote in the other thread. Too good a price if the field favors right handed bats but I can't say he's as good as any of em, Pujols is a right handed bat as is Vlad. I'd love to see Rios do it if Morneau doesn't tho.

Well...I'd say right now he's as good at hitting HR's as those two, probably better than Vlad. Guerrero really isn't that big of a basher anymore...he hasn't hit 40 since his early days in Montreal (2000), is coming off 33/32 type HR years, and only has 14 this year. Albert has one less that Rios (16), and while he probably is the better HR hitter, there is some value on Rios at +1400.

Vlad has the least value out of all of the contestants IMO, as he is a big name, but will not make it out of the first round...he will hit about 9 gap doubles though! lol.

I still think Prince wins it though...

lmao

I don't think Prince has the stamina to win it especially if any of the other guys push him early and force him to put up big numbers in the 1st round. 3 rounds of swinging for the fences when the guys winded running to first?

I think Rios has a legit shot at winning it. Most of the other guys are bigger and will try to push it early on Rios who is a leadoff hitter has some power and I think should be able to pace himself.

Ladies and gentleman....you're reigning Home Run Derby champ...

lol.

Seriously though....you make a good point, and as you can see I thought about it in my original post....but I guess you just have to go on "gut" feelings with these contests (pardon the pun).

wow this line movement for the derby is pretty interesting

Rios + 1400 to + 1054 at pinny

Morneau was +650 when I got it, +613 when you got it jml and now is +750

Vlad upto +1000

Pujols from +400 to + 359

howard and fielder still holding steady as far as I can tell

looks like moneys coming in on Rios

Added a fade of Guerrero...he is the most overrated player in this thing, IMO...he's not much of a homerun hitter any more, and the previous time he did compete in this thing, when he was more of a masher (2000) he only hit 2 in the first round, and was eliminated. We'll see.
