I must respectfully disagree with that. They certainly can....and probably will if the first half of the season's results are any indication.

Now I know Redding isn't anything special and neither are the Nats, but I can't see how HOU can be a road fave tonight, or any night. They flat out stink as bad as WSH, and are just plain horrible on the road.

WSH overall record 38-54
HOU overall record 39-54

WSH HOME record 20-27
HOU AWAY record 15-32 (that's brutal)

Lets also not forget HOU plays in pretty much the worst overall division in baseball....unless someone can convince me otherwise.

Now obviously there's more to it than the record of the 2 respective teams, but seriously, a team that is 39-54 overall and 15-32 on the road is a road fave over ANYONE? How?

Not saying HOU can't or won't win tonight, just that taking them at -130 on the road is a losing proposition in the long run, no matter who they're playing. I'd even be extremely hesitant to take this matchup at -130 if HOU was at home...as I wouldn't see any value in it.

houston is currently -119 through SB and by the time it gets to game time, i could see them being at a pick'em through my local book...

If the line moves to a pick em or anywhere near it, that would be quite the indication of "sharper" money on Washington I'd think, since 60% or a tad more are on Houston.

Even at -119 though, or even at a pick em for that matter, my point remains the same. They could win, but the probability of them doing so isn't worth the price you have to pay to take the chance that they will.

LOL, just about. Actually yes, I personally think HOU is overall a worse team than CIN, but that would be nothing more than an opinion and irrelevant.

The Reds are 3 games better on the road (18-29) than Houston (15-32) however, lol

And just so ya know, I'm not trying to stir up **** here, lol....just throwin some numbers out there.

Holy Cow Homedaawg, 2 in a row on the ROAD.....WOW. Its a shame they don't offer 7 inning lines on the Reds, you'd win 1/2 the time with Reds -2 (7th). Mike Stanton really does suck. If I could get the ball to home plate I'd probably only be slightly worse than him.

Stif, I don't think your stirrin' ****. I always like your insight..it is appreciated. I do think that the Reds aren't the worst team in bb, I do think that they ha'e (no letter that rhymes with b) the worst bullpen of any team in the last 10 years though. I do agree with you that it doesn't really matter who the worste team is. IF we had a bullpen we wouldn't be so far back. It is amazing to watch these games night after night and just watch the team implode as soon as the starter lea'es (no letter that rhymes with b). It is hard to watch.
