Da Coach's 8/14 MLB Picks
Updated the record ... now just gotta get in a nice little groove before football starts back up. Now, with the picks.
Plays: NY Mets -138 (2 Units) - El Duque has been dealing as of late and though the Buccos were in a nice little run, that was against the Sunnyside Bay Retirement Home Giants. Mets have the bats to outslug the Pirates, esp. as Snell hasn't been as solid as he was earlier in the season. Atlanta RL -125 (2 Units) - Smoltz hasn't been as stellar as he was earlier in the season, but that Hotlanta O is really clicking right now. If SF loses 4 of 5 to Pirates, how can they have much success here, not to mention traveling from San Francisco to Pittsburgh to Atlanta in what, a day and half? Oh yeah, does anyone even know who the SF starter is tonight? Washington -105 (1 Unit) - The GNats have been playing some pretty solid ball since the break and have been impressed by Hill for them this year. He seems to have some pretty solid stuff, including a good sinker if I remember correctly. As for Lohse, his teams' record during his road starts is 2-10, not to mention his enormous ERA. The spacious RFK should neutralize some of Philly's power and give way to the Nats ability to play some small ball. Arizona +126 (1 Unit) - How the heck is the D-Train a -136 favorite? I don't care if he's at home or what. Oh yeah, not to mention that the D-Backs are as scorching as their hometown weather. Kim is one of those sneaky pitchers that either gets lit up or has a very solid start, which I think is what we see tonight. As long as Arizona has lead after 6 or so and can turn the game over to the 'pen, those late-inning guys are sick and should shut the door. GL to all tonight!  Prolly will still add more.  Moose
