Default Dale Earnhardt Jr Leaves DEI

Earnhardt Jr. To Drive for New Team in 2008 Four-time NASCAR Most Popular Driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr., announced today at a news conference at JR Motorsports that negotiations to extend his driving contract with Dale Earnhardt Inc. have come to an amicable end. Earnhardt Jr. will continue driving the #8 Budweiser Chevrolet through the remainder of the season, while his sister, Vice President and General Manager of JR Motorsports, Kelley Earnhardt Elledge, will begin exploring new opportunities for 2008. Earnhardt Jr. said Thursday he would look at his options in the coming months and hopefully announce a decision mid to late summer. “What team I drive for next season, I don’t know,” Earnhardt Jr. said. “But what I do want to say is that it’s been a privilege to drive for DEI. After a year of intense negotiations and concerted efforts to extend my contract there, it became evident that while we want to get to the same place, we simply have different visions on how to get there.” Earnhardt Jr. made the announcement with his sister, Earnhardt Elledge, by his side, and many of the Earnhardt family in attendance. “DEI will always be a special place for me and my family,” Earnhardt Jr. said. “(Owner) Teresa (Earnhardt) and (Vice President of Global Operations) Max Seigel are taking the necessary steps to bring DEI back to one of the front-running NASCAR teams. However I am 32 years old – the same age as my father when he made his final and most important career decision – and the time for me to compete on a consistent basis and contend for championships is now. Since that is what I plan to do, I feel strongly that I would have my father’s blessing.” Earnhardt Jr. said JR Motorsports will continue to work with DEI on many projects that will benefit both companies and protect the legacy of his father

Hopefully Nascar day. That would be nice. But I'm a patient man of sorts

Teresa was right. He needs to focus more on driving than being famous. Just what has junior done except for take over the fans of the three car and sell alot of sovieneers. Oh he's rich, but he cain't drive worf a fk. Fame landed in his lap and he is famous, famous for not winning dat fkr. Maybe he could take some lessons from Matt. They'll be towin' his ass soon.

teresa is a ****! DEI shoulda been turned over to jr....... I am sure jr woulda sent that f'n ugly ol'biatch a check every month....

jr has more wins in 9yrs than SR did at 11years of racin'.... (and the competition is a lot tougher now)

Jr gonna start winnin' again soon, real soon....

I hear that Richard will offer the #33 car and will probably do all he can do to get it into the top 35 this year, I assume by putting Wimmer in the car or something. Maybe sign Bill Elliott to run it for six races...not sure.

I hear that Gibbs may offer the #18 car that will more then likley be in the top 35 and that they will move Yeley to the fourth car.

Hendricks only options is to pay Mears a ton of money to buy him out and offer Dale Jr the #25 car. Who knows if the #25 will even be in the top 35 or not.

More then likley he ends up in one of those three. I put them in this order for a reason.....

My money is on Childress. #33. He won't drive under his own company cause he won't be able to drive for Childress in his latter years. He goes with Childress. Or his mom gives him what he wants

maybe going with hendricks and teaming a deal like gordon with engineering, etc being supplied. my money, right now, is he goes with childress, takes uries and bud with him, and has an option to start and have teams under his own flag with them. teresa messed up here big.....her stable is just plain manure as of now.

My bet is RCR in a Black Budwieser Select car number 3 or 33. No to Hendrick's that was a joke jumping in to the car to start rumors. Maybe Gibbs dont think so. His own company No to soon for him would have to lease engines from either RCR or Hendrick so why not drive for them and save a bunch of money. Good for Jr. Teresa is the most stupidest woman on earth. Goodbye DEI it's history. Two more years tops and she sells out. I dont know why she dont just take the money and buy herself a new bar. That's where she spends most of her time now....Getting Drunk.
