Bengal's Def Cord Wife dies suddenly

DC comes home and finds his wife dead. Not that old and out of the blue.

Here is the story from Cincy:

CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Bengals are mourning the loss of defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer's wife.

Vikki Zimmer died suddenly Thursday, the team said. The team did not elaborate on how she died.

The Zimmers were married for 27 years and have three children. Zimmer is in his second season as defensive coordinator.

“We are stunned and saddened to learn of Vikki’s passing,” said Bengals president Mike Brown in a statement released to the media. “She was a warm and popular person in the Bengals family, and our immense respect and affection for Mike makes this especially hard. Our hearts go out to Mike and his family.”

Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis also released a statement. "Mike is part of our Bengals family, and we’ll support him in every way we can," said Lewis. "We will dearly miss Vikki. She was a friend to all of us, and a big supporter of Mike’s players. Her thoughtfulness to them in so many ways will also be greatly missed."

Funeral arrangements are pending. The Bengals play Baltimore Sunday.

That is awful to read. Don't want to wish that on anybody. At least they got to spend a good amount of time together. Might be hard for the Bengals to focus this weekend. Or it could give them extra motivation. Will Zimmer sit this one out?

Either way I'm on the Ravens -8.5 already.
