Two for Monday...


Bruins/Habs UNDER 5.5 -119
Two teams that are good defensively and poor offensively so far this year. Boston has played 6/7 games under with hot goaltending by Thomas (and Fernandez) to start the year. Boston has only allowed more than two goals twice this year, and have given up only 2 total in their last 3 games! Habs' Huet also off to a great start with a 2.14 GAA. Don't see many goals in this one.

Sharks/Flames OVER 5 -131
Much like the Leafs, Calgary has been a huge Over team, getting lots of goals lately (22 goals/last 5 games), and also having trouble on their back end with a slow start by their defence, and Kipper struggling early again this year (.888 SP!). Flames also horrible on the PK this year, so I expect Thornton/Cheechoo/Marleau to get a couple on the PP tonight.

Why is this total on 5 (-131) then? Isn't Vegas inviting players to take this line as opposed to it being 5.5 -110(ish)?

The 5 is worth way more than that. Lets say you have a 5 cent edge and the true odds for the over is -136. Assuming this is true, the under 5.5 is a 58% bet and would be priced at around -140! If someone is dealing you under 5.5 -110 then beat the **** out of it.
