there's a few catching my interest for thursday, im laying some chalk but not much in the way of dogs barking for me

Tbay - 153 to win 1 unit over Washington

Tortorella wasn't pleased with his teams effort against Dallas and coupling that with a loss to Boston and they didn't have a great home stand. This bolts team is a far better road team than they are at home and they get a caps team that is struggling everywhere and lost some of its better talent not named Ovechkin at the deadline. Caps are also still riding back up Johhson as Kolzig is injured.The bolts have taken 4 of 5 off the caps this season including both in washington. With the way the bolts are talking and the way the coach reacted to their stars loss I don't think the bolts are going to be lacking for effort in this one. If they have the effort they should roll over this undermanned underskilled caps line up. Bolts game to lose.

Canucks -227 to win 2 units over Phoenix

A disgusting effort against the blues has the coach unhappy, has Luongo unhappy and the fans are unhappy. Not to mention division rivals minny and calgary each got a point tonight with calgary taking the extra point and catching the canucks for first in the division. This match up is the game in hand the canucks have and they catch a bad phoenix team thats missing jovo and playing its 3rd game in 4 nights all on the road. The canucks have shown all season that after a poor outing that they can come out with a serious effort and I expect nothing less in this game. In terms of must win games this one is right up there, they've given away far too many points to inferior teams lately, a trend they need to stop. The players are well aware of it. The canucks have been sloppy over the past few games largely in part to lazy penalties and not working hard enough to draw any themselves. This match up suits them nicely as phoenix is struggling badly on the pp since the all star break clicking at 11% and that was buoyed by a 2 pp goal performance over a very flat disheartened oil team deadline day. Canucks can afford to take the odd extra penalty here as their league best kill against the league worst pp unit is a favorable match up. The nucks pp hasn't been hot lately but the dogs pk is also on the weaker end in the league so it should help the home team out. Lotsa chalk here but like a few nights ago in Calgary this one warrants it.

Isles - 191 to win 1.5 units over St Louis

The blues are playing a very ugly style of hockey these days and can catch the odd unmotivated team like they did vancouver but this isles team at home with Smyth coming in is going to be jacked up not flat. The blues don't have the horses to keep up with a talented team thats playing well coming in and is coming out ready to compete. Legaces still on the mend and while Sanfords solid he's not going to steal many games for you. The isles near collapse against philly was partly lucky bounces part hard work by philly so im not too worried about defensive problems for the isles. St louis will do what it can but every edge is in favor of the isles, so they'll have to give this game away to lose it.

2-1 and a slight profit on the day, unlucky with the isles but lucky with the bolts. As long as its a + day Im not gonna be complaining
