Cool JoePa's RBC Canadian Open Picks

Still searching for my 7th PGA Tour win this year after fading in the British Open last week....at least we're back on North American soil......

RBC CANADIAN OPEN

JIM FURYK 8 / 1 - Hard to go against the winner of the last two RBC Canadian Opens.....especially when he has 2 consecutive Top5 finishes including one last week at the 137th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale! Furyk is looking for a 3-peat and his first victory on the PGA Tour since winning the RBC Canadian Open in 2007. It's been long time coming, and without that 3rd round 77 last week in The Open Championship he would of been in serious contention for a win.

ANTHONY KIM 10 / 1 - Kim finished T5th with Furyk at The Open Championship last week due to a failure with his putter.....most of the yips caused by the gale force winds. He has 2 Tour victories this season and is looking for a 3rd in a breakout year. He's currently 5th in the FedEx Cup standings with nearly $3.5 million in earnings, 6th in scoring average @ 69.89, had 6 Top25s, 5 Top10s, and his recent form at The Open Championship and wins at the Wachovia and AT&T National have to be considered.

BEN CURTIS 40 / 1 - Have to pull out the Kent State card once again and for good reason. The pressure will certainly be on Ben this week as he is one of four KSU Alums playing in the RBC Open....AND, he is the only U.S. player among the four.....the others, Jon Mills, Bryan DeCorso and David Morland IV all are Canadians. It's for bragging rights amongst ex-Golden Flashes and Ben is hot right now and needs to strike. He's finished T7th at The Open Championship and T13 at The Travelers....the last two tournaments he's played. He also had a 2nd in The Wachovia. Curtis finished in a T20th last season but this is a different course.

ALEX CEJKA 66 / 1 - Been waiting for him to breakout this year and this may be his opportunity. He's 1 for 3 in Top10s in the RBC Canadian with a T10th in 2007. On the season he has 4 Top10s. That's not great, but it's not bad either considering that he missed 8 cuts earlier in the season and 5 in a row at one point while nursing a nagging wrist injury! He managed to shake off that disastrous stretch and finish T26th at The Crowne Plaza, T4th at the St. Jude, T9th at the AT&T National, and was 82nd in The Buick where he struggled with 8 3rd round bogeys before bouncing back at the AT&T. Two of his Top10s have come in his last 4 tournaments, and at the AT&T he showed some grit by shaking off 3 final round bogeys to post a 66 and crack the Top10!
