Beyond's Turning £100 into £1000 - Soccer Picks

As the title suggests the purpose of this thread will be to turn my £100 into £1000. The way I would be looking to achieve this is purely by picking results in soccer matches across the world.

So as the first few weeks of the season are underway I believe now would be the best time to start to make a few picks.

Scottish Premier League

20 * Dunfermline v Rangers - Rangers to win @ 1.36

Nice and safe play in my eyes here, Rangers were fantastic last week in the old firm game coming from behind to beat Celtic. I think they will be looking to come out strong here after losing midweek in the cup. Dunfermline are yet to win at home this season with 3 draws a 1 loss the loss coming at the hands of Motherwell. (I think this is a good game to put in a few accumulators)

Italian Serie B

10 * Padova v Medona - Padova to win @ 1.61

English League One

10 * Sheffield Wednesday v Exeter - Wednesday to win @ 1.73

English League Two

5 * Swindon Town v Barnet - Swindon to win @ 1.61

English Premier League

10 * Wigan v Tottenham - Tottenham to win @ 1.91

If you saw the Tottenham v Liverpool game last week you would have saw a Tottenham midfield that was in absolute fine form. When Tottenham midfield is on form I find it really hard to bet against them. Wigan have had two disappointing defeats coming into this game and I expect this to continue at the DW.

10 * Newcastle v Blackburn - Newcastle to win @ 1.91

Newcastle have been in fantastic form this season and I think there has been some fantastic signings made in the summer Cabaye has been fantastic for them and when ever he gets the ball you know he is going to do something. Also lets not forget about the Newcastle defense who have been fantastic.

Blackburn on the other hand come into this game with some good form the win against Arsenal was a brave performance as well as the draw to Fulham however I think that Newcastle with all the form they have will get a good victory here.

Major League Soccer

10 * New York Red Bulls v Portland Timbers - New York Red Bulls to win @ 1.60

New York really have to pick up here considering there performance last time out after getting smacked by Real Salt Lake. I think this is the perfect game to bounce back.

Portland aren't great on the road and it is evidence by their record of 1-4-8. I think this match presents a chance for New York to knock some goals in and get that wild card spot.

5 * Cardiff City v Leicester City - Leicester City to win @ 3.10

Leicester were unlucky to lose against Cardiff in midweek on penalties. I think the form of Leicester as of late has been quite good and with Beckford up front now I think this would be a good chance for them to get a good win and also confirm the reason why they are the favorites to win promotion.

Cardiff have been solid at home but haven't been winning many games at home in normal time. I believe it is 1 win in their last 4 home games in normal time.

Should be an entertaining game to watch.

I'll have a pick up for the QPR v Villa game shortly.

Not a good night was looking good in many of these games till around the 70th minute.

UEFA Champions League

20 * Arsenal v Olympiacos - Arsenal to win @ 1.57

I think Arsenal looked fantastic against Bolton on the weekend and I strongly believe Van Persie as captain has given this team a strong boost and it is great to see, with a good run of matches to come after this coming weekends game I expect this Arsenal squad to be on form and not to forget they looked ok against Dortmund last time in UEFA action. Arsenal gets the win and Persie will score.

10 * Valencia v Chelsea - Chelsea to win @ 2.50

Chelsea are in solid form Mata will be against his old club and will be keen to get the points away from home. Chelsea gets a win 2-1

Nothing else worth looking at in my opinion other than the Dortmund game however I'm not taking any chances on them.

English Championship

5 * Cardiff v Southampton - Cardiff to win @ 2.75

I honestly think Southampton are going to be up against it tonight - the head to head stats against these two in the past indicate Southampton don't like traveling to Cardiff with the last 4 games all resulting in Cardiff wins. I don't read too much into Southamptons away form leading into this either the wins have come across mediocre teams and the lost was against leicester. I think with the odds offered its a good time to take a little gamble on Cardiff.

Getting in some of the earlier kick-off games in and will be looking at the later North London derby game a little later not too sure on the Swansea-Stoke and QPR-Fulham games yet though.

10 * Lecce v Cagliari - Over 2.5 Goals @ 2.10

These two teams have been scoring and giving up a few goals this season I think this is a good chance here my only worry was Cagliari last time out holding on for a 0-0 draw however I do expect to see the goals fly here will most likely be 1-2 Cagliari win.

5 * Cesena v Chievo - Chievo to win @ 2.90

Cesena without a win this season not looking the best to be honest and this Chievo team has hit some form with big wins against Genoa and Napoli in the last two weeks I think a win here could go a long way for Chievo. Cesena look bound for relegation.

English Premier League

30 * Bolton v Chelsea - Chelsea to win @ 1.40

Terrible start of the season for Bolton - the loss of Stuart Holden for this season isn't a good sign. Chelsea looked fine in there midweek game, no Torres here today however I expect to see Drogba back in the squad today. Also Mata has been brilliant in the midfield this season. Expecting to see Mata work his magic in the middle of the park and an easy 3-0 win for Chelsea.
