Numbers 65 and up will fight it out south of the border for the Mayakoba Golf Classic crown. It may not have the star power that the Accenture has, but all of these pros will certainly take a win this week to sew up exemptions for next year and take strides to move up the rankings for upcoming WGC events.
No longwinded previews, just the picks...down and dirty.
Short: Brian Gay 18 to 1
The defending champ from '08 has four top-20's in five events including a 5th and 6th so far in '09. Gay is 3rd in fairways hit and 11th in total birdies.
Middle of the Road: Kevin Na 25 to 1
5th at the Sony and 3rd at the FBR were close calls that could turn into a win this week against a weaker field.
Longshot: Jerry Kelly 50 to 1
Kelly was playing in the Accenture last year, so a trip to Mexico might not be what Kelly had in mind for this week. Jerry is 7th in putting average in '09 and 18th in the all around rank.
