2008 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf Preview
The Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf looks wide open on paper and trips could decide who gets the money. Folk Opera is moving up in class ofter her recent win in the EP Taylor at Woodbine but if she opens up early on Dynaforce she could prove very tough to catch. And you just know she'll be fit, having been conditioned overseas. Lone speed is always dangerous and if either of these two gets loose they could be gone.
The lukewarm favorite could be Wait A While, who won the Yellow Ribbon in workmanlike fashion in her last over this course, but we've never been a fan of this one. She'll run her race, but we're of the opinion that if another runs big she'll get beat.
Forever Together powered home to win the First Lady at Keeneland in her last and looked good doing it, but these are tougher. Still, she could certainly win this with a similar effort.
Halfway to Heaven is probably the class play off her three Group 1 wins in Ireland and England and we certainly wouldn't argue with you if you chose her as your main play.
If you're a longshot player you might want to take a shot on Either Visit, who could be sitting on a big race off her recent third place finish off a 60-day layoff behind Halfway To Heaven in England's Grade 1 Sun Chariot, or Pure Clan, who has always had talent but who has found trouble in her last two. We're considering this an all race in our multi-race wagers.
