The Golden State Warriors will face off with the Houston Rockets for Game Two of the Western Conference Finals. The game will be coming live from the Toyota Center on Wednesday, May 16th, 2018 at 9:00 PM ET. The contest will be broadcasted to national audiences on TNT. As it was in Game One, this match pits the two best teams in the NBA against each other. On the season, the series was as competitive as it gets. The two teams had split the last four meetings between each other. However, the Warriors would soar over the Rockets in Game One. Kevin Durant and company would cruise past James Harden and his cohorts when the Rockets were defeated by the Warriors 119-106 at home.

As was revealed in the tale of the tape, these two teams entered into the Western Conference Finals on the heels of dominant performances in both the Western Conference Semifinals and Western Conference Quarterfinals. Collectively, the two outfits had gone 16-3 over the span of the first two rounds.

Betting Trends

There are a variety of viable betting trends that we are looking at here in Game Two. To begin, the Rockets remain a force at home as they are 39-9 SU in Houston. Golden State has improved to a commendable 32-14 SU on the road. In previous meetings between the two sides, Golden State is 7-4 ATS in the previous eleven meetings. Moreover, the away team ironically enough is 8-3 SU in the previous eleven fixtures between these two foes.

Handicapping Analysis

Golden State knows how to navigate this playoff stretch as best as any team or franchise. After all, they have won two of the last three NBA Finals and been the bullies of the West for the last four years. With the Warriors being chalk to win the title again this year, this outfit is always a viable pick even if they are prone to being heavily overvalued as a result of this.

As we have said previously, the Rockets were designed to defeat Golden State and they have the tools to do just that. The combination of James Harden, Chris Paul, P.J. Tucker, and Eric Gordon make the Rockets as viable a threat as any team. When you toss in the fact they get this one with home cooking, the Rockets offer tremendous upside as they will be coming into this contest off the radar.

Public Money

From out of the gate, there has been a lean on the Warriors reflected in the market falling by a point since the open. In addition to this, 59% of the public cash and 71% of the ticket action is on Golden State in Game Two. In Over/Under markets, we have seen the figure drop by a point to reflect steam on the Under. To counter this, 88% of the cash and 86% of the tickets are currently in on the Over in this spot.

Team vs Team Pick ATS

The results of Game One are bound to create a huge reaction from the betting public after Golden State made it look easy in Clutch City. In spite of their triumph, the market is reluctant to sway or believe that anything will be different in Houston in Game Two. The Rockets still remain the favorite as they have been a juggernaut on their own court all season long. With this being said, the Rockets will seize the opportunity to show the NBA why they finished with the best record in the West and garnered as a chief rival to the defending champions. This game has rebound potential all over it for the Rockets and as a result, much of the public may be set up for a let-down here after an impressive opening performance. Swallow the points.

How to Bet

Point Spread - The most basic of basketball wagers.

Moneyline - For those that simply want to bet on a team to win straight up.

Totals - Also known as an over/under. This bet has nothing to do with who which team wins or by how many. You're simply predicting if both teams points scored will exceed or fall short of the posted total.

Parlays - Multi-team wager where all must win in order to get paid. Big risk and big reward.

Teasers - Multi-team bet where you get to move the line a certain amount of points on each game. All teams must cover the teased point spreads to cash.

Pleasers - The opposite of a teaser. You're "giving" points away, making this bet a much tougher proposition to win.

Prop Bets - Wagers not having to do with which team wins the game or by how many. These usually pertain to wagers on individual players points scored, rebounds, assists, steals, etc.

NBA Futures - Bet on your favorite team to win their division, conference or the NBA Finals. A great bet for those looking to risk very little for a potentially large payoff.
