The Seahawks showed up today at Qwest Field with an attitude. The winning attitude. Seattle welcomed back starting QB Matt Hasselbeck. Hasselbeck was incredible in his return from broken ribs as he tossed four touchdown passes in a shutout victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars 41-0. Hasselbeck was 18 of 30 for 241 yards and shared the wealth with two of his receivers. Wide receivers Nate Burleson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh each caught two TD passes from Hasselbeck in the route.
Now that the Seahawks appear to be back on track they will host the Superbowl runner up from a year ago when the Arizona Cardinal make their way to town next week. The Hawks are still missing most of their offensive line as well as a handful of defensive straters to injury but today they looked like a team again.
The Arizona Cardinals held on to beat the Houston Texans today 28-21 in a game where Kurt Warner was solid and the Cardinal defense chipped in to close the door on a Texan's rally.
Warner was 26 of 38 for 302 yards and 2 touchdowns. He connected twice for TD passes with WR Larry Fitzgerald for 9 and 26 yards. Fitzgerald finished with 5 catches for 79 yards and 2 TDs.
The game ball could easily go to Warner or Fitzgerald but it was the Cardinal defense that stood strong on three consecutive attempts by Houston from the 1-yard line.
Seattle may have a tough task next week with the Cardinal defense riding high after a potential game saving showdown. The Hawks will be without some key players again this week but at least Hasselbeck appears to be on the mend. It might be the time for the Hawks to make a statement to the league that they have not faded back to mediocracy.
This coming weekend will be a battle for NFC West ranking. The Cardinals are 2-2 in division play while the Seahawks trail behind at 2-3 ahead of the winless Rams (0-5).
With Seattle hosting the Cardinals after a huge shutout at home the week before it could make for a very hostile environment for Arizona. It's interesting to note that in Seattle's only two wins on the season they have both been shutouts. The Hawks blanked the Rams 28-0 in week one and today they downed the Jaguars 41-0. Seattle is 2-1 ATS at home and 1-2 O/U at home as well. Arizona is 1-0 ATS and 1-0 O/U on the road.

Seattle's pass defense remains suspect especially with Trufant out of the line up as they give up 200 yards plus per game. Arizona's pass defense is giving up 300 yards per game so far which may make for a battle through the air, which is only fitting given the two gun slingers behind center.
The sportsbooks have not opened a line yet on this game but I would imagine not more than 3.5 points either way. Seattle may be favored in this one at home after a big blowout and the return of Hasselbeck.
Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald could do some damage against the Hawk's shaky corners. Most of the numbers matchup for these two squads on paper with the only difference being the Cardinals defense allowing one more touchdown per game (22.3 ppg) than the Hawks (16.4 ppg).
Hawk's Head Coach Jim Mora has the mentality to keep his guys optimistic, and now he has his leader on the field (Hasselbeck) back in action to run the offense. Seattle turns the corner this weekend after proving me wrong last week!
