This is a great opportunity for bettors to take advantage of the public weighted perceptions on who are the top teams in the NFL. Of course the usual public teams have the lowest odds to make the NFL Playoffs, such as the Patriots, Colts, Steelers, Giants and Cowboys.
However, there are a couple teams that we think offer great bang for your buck in the 2009/2010 NFL season. The Seattle Seahawks are currently listed at +170 to make the post season. They have beefed up their defense in offseason and on paper appear ready to regain their 2006 form. They are in what is commonly considered the weakest division in the NFC and it wouldn't be considered a reach for them to go 4-2 in divisional match-ups. If they can win 6 of their remaining 10 games that may be just enough to win the NFC West.
Another team that we think could make the playoffs this season is the Buffalo Bills (+275). They started last season off strong, but not unlike 2008, the Bills defense didn't catch any breaks on the injury front with many starters missing games. They've added T. O. this season which along with fellow wideout L. Evans should give opposing pass defenses fits.
