For those of you who are unfamiliar with this type of ranking and need an explanation. NFL Strength of Schedule is based on the upcoming schedule for each pro football team based on their opponents previous season won/loss record.
The NFL strength of schedule has limited value in handicapping for future bets such as odds to win the Super Bowl, conference and divisional. However, it's a decent tool to use as a starting point for handicapping season win type bets.
The NFC West and the NFC South have seven teams that rank in the top eight for the most difficult schedules based on their 2016 opponents' last season's records. On the opposite side of the numbers teams from the NFC North and the NFC East have on paper an easy road to the playoffs in the upcoming season with six of the the bottom seven SOS rankings. In the AFC, the Cincincinnati Bengals surprisingly has the easiest schedule of all AFC clubs with the Jets appearing to get the wrong end of the stick with the highest SOS ranked schedule.
