Point Spread: St. Louis +13/Tennessee -13
Over/Under: 41.5

The St. Louis Rams are not exactly having the stellar season that they would like but at least they have a chance to add a win to their pathetic record. The Rams will face the Tennessee Titans for a chance to win just their second game of the season. St. Louis comes into this game after losing 17-9 to the Chicago Bears last Sunday. Meanwhile, the Titans are looking to rebound after a loss to the undefeated Indianapolis Colts 27-17.

Rams QB, Kyle Boller was 17 of 32 for 113 yards and 1 interception. Once again the Rams proved why they are just 1-11 this season as they can’t get anything going offensively or hold teams from crossing the goal line.

Tennessee has a bit more going for them as they seek their sixth win on the season when they welcome the down and out Rams. Vince Young has shown his poise in recent games with flares of his Texas Longhorn days even though it wasn’t enough against the Colts. Young still has the potential to develop into a fantastic NFL QB.

St. Louis is only averaging 11.6 points per game and allowing 26 to their opponents. The Rams offense gains 146 yards each game on the ground and 185 yards through the air. St. Louis is averaging just 257 yards of total offense this season on the road. Defensively, the Rams are giving up 210 passing yards and 133 yards on the ground. The Rams are 1-5 O/U on the road this year.

The Titans are averaging 20.5 points per game and giving up 26.3 ppg to the opposition. They gain 187 yards through the air and 165 rushing per contest. Tennessee is extremely tough at home as they throw for over 213 yards and run for 193. They are 2-3 ATS at home.

St. Louis has lost 5 of their last 6 while Tennessee has won 5 of their last 6.

The line on this game opened at Tennessee -11 with an O/U of 41.5. Most offshore sportsbooks have the Titans at -13 with a total of 41.5. The Las Vegas Hilton is also showing the Titans at -13 along with the Hard Rock, the Mirage, and Planet Hollywood.

I don’t see the Rams putting up too much of a fight against the Titans especially the way Vince Young has been playing lately. Despite the loss to the Colts, who are beating everyone at the moment, the Titans are a very good football team. Young has stepped into the starting role behind center and proven his worth. His current QB rating is 87.1 to go along with a 61 percent completion rate. Meanwhile, QBs Kyle Boller and Marc Bulger each have a 57 percent completion rate for the Rams. Young is dangerous as he can scramble and run well once he’s out of the pocket.

Tennessee is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games as the favorite. The Titans are also 9-3 ATS against teams with a losing record. Neither team’s offense has averaged more than 20 points per game in their last three contests.

I like the Titans to pull away early in this game with Young both throwing and running for touchdowns. The Rams lack of offensive punch will hamper their efforts once again thus the story of their entire season to this point. The Titans will look forward to a certain win in search of a late push to finish .500 or better.

Wilson’s Pick: St. Louis 13, Tennessee 28. Luck to ya.
