Superbowl 44 Prop Bets: The Best Proposition Wagers at Sportsbook.com

If you haven’t found enough Super Bowl proposition bets at BoDog or BetUS, let’s take a look at the props offered at Sportsbook.com.
Once again, don’t waste a good bankroll and a profitable NFL season on some risky prop bets in the league’s final game. But if you have some “play” money lying around, here are a few that I found that could produce a few winners.

GAME PROPS
Super Bowl 44 Coin Toss – Heads or Tails (-101)
If you’re going to bet on the coin toss, the -101 odds are the best I’ve seen anywhere. I’ll let you flip the coin, but I’m a fan of “tails never fails.”
Total Fumbles lost by both teams – Over 1.5 (+115), Under 1.5 (-145)
With the Saints defense punching and ripping at the ball all the time, I’m surprised the total is so low. But the key in this prop is LOST fumbles. The Saints forced six last week against the Vikings, but only recovered three. Either way, I’ll take the +115 that they can do it again.

Will the Saints score a TD in 1st quarter – Yes (+105), No (-135)
Come on, I know the Colts defense has been underrated all year. But are they really going to keep the high-powered Saints out of the end zone early on? Doubt it. I’ll take Yes at +105.
Will either team score in first 5:30 minutes of the game – Yes (+105), No (-135)
Again, all of that offense on the field for both teams and nobody scores fast. Mark me down as a non-believer. I’m on Yes for +105.
Over/Under largest lead of the game – Over 16.5 (-115), Under 16.5 (-115)
There seems to be a theme developing here, but with the quick-strike ability of both teams there no way in my mind this game gets 16.5 points out of reach of either team. Therefore, I’m on the under at -115.
PLAYER PROPS
Jonathan Vilma total solo+assisted tackles (sacks don’t count) – Over 6.5 (+120), Under (-150)
I nearly dropped my drink when I saw this. Vilma is the Saints best linebacker and most active player. Plus, he doesn’t leave the field much, not even in nickel and dime situations. At +120, I’ll take my chances that he’ll be in more than 7 plays all game long.
Will Peyton Manning throw a 1st quarter TD pass – Yes (+165), No (-210)
Here’s another prop I found that defies reason. I guess the folks at Sportsbook feel the MVP candidate will start slow. I’ll take that risk and say a resounding yes for +165.
Most rushing yards – Pierre Thomas +14.5 (-115) or Joseph Addai -14.5 (-115)
The Saints need Thomas to run for more, and in my opinion, they’re going to use him more to keep the Colts and Manning off the field. I’d consider taking Thomas straight up head-to-head with Addai, but if you’re going to give me +14.5 yards, I like it that much more. Thomas at -115.
CROSS SPORTS PROPS

Who will have more – Lebron James + Kobe Bryant points (on Feb. 6) -1.5 (-115) or Saints+Colts total points +1.5 (-115)
With Kobe shooting (literally) to become the Lakers all-time scoring leader in franchise history (against Portland), and King James playing the New York Knicks, I fairly sure that even the -1.5 points is not enough cushion. Kobe goes for 40-plus, James has an off night for 30 and the duo top the total points scored in the Super Bowl easily.
Who will have more – Michigan+Wisconsin goals scored (college hockey Feb. 6) +1.5 (-140) or Saints+Colts total TD -1.5 (+110)
The Badgers and Wolverines already played on November 28th this year, a game Michigan won 3-2. But this game is scheduled to be played outdoors in Camp Randall Stadium, with the weather forecast as cold (20s) and snowing. They may score a goal or two more, but I still think there’ll be more TDs in the Super Bowl even giving up the extra -1.5.
