Win a PokerStars Passport

Win a PokerStars Passport
by Chad Holloway of Predictem.com

Ever wanted to travel the world playing poker? My guess is that doesn't sound too bad; in fact, that pretty much sums up my dream job. If you're in the same boat as me, there is good news.

PokerStars, the world's largest online poker site, is offering its players a chance at the PokerStars Passport.

The PokerStars Passport allows players the opportunity to travel around the world representing PokerStars in the world's biggest poker tournaments. Barcelona, The Bahamas, Monte Carlo, Sydney, and Macau are common place stops on the poker circuit; and as a bonus, PokerStars will pick-up hotel and other expenses for every event a PokerStars Passport holder enters.

A PokerStars Passport will get you into the most popular poker tours including the European Poker Tour, Latin American Poker Tour, Asia Pacific Poker Tour, Russian Poker Tour, and Australia New Zealand Poker Tour.

So how does it work exactly? Each PokerStars Passport has a certain number of stamps, corresponding to how many events you can use it for. For instance, if you win a four-stamp passport, you get the choice of four different events. The PokerStars Passport expires one year after it is won, giving players an opportunity to choose when and where they want to go within that time frame.

Unfortunately, winning one of these passports won't be easy. You will have to use all your poker skills and wisdom to score big on the Yearly Tournament Leader Board (TLB). If you are not fortunate enough to accomplish this, you can also take part in the Annual PokerStars Passport promotion. On top of this, PokerStars will also be giving away extra passports periodically throughout the year.

Need some more encouragement? Maybe you will find inspiration from past Passport winners. Last year a number of players took different routes in obtaining their passports. Shaun 'shaundeeb' Deeb won a five-stamp PokerStars Passport for winning the Yearly TLB, where he finished with 34,869 points in 2007. Likewise, 'derek8' took second in the TLB for which he was awarded a 3-stamp PokerStars Passport. 'BreakRibs,' a PokerStars regular, finished third on the TLB and took home a 2-stamp passport.

Phillip 'phillyJbizee' Byers, a Supernova player, won his 5-stamp passport by winning a January final tournament for the top 100 on the monthly TLB (he barely made it onto the list by finishing 98th out of 100). 'delfino,' who finished second to Byers, won a 4-stamp PokerStars Passport while 'Bruno GT,' a prominent Brazilian player, finished 3rd and won a 1-stamp PokerStars Passport.

'AOthegreat8' won a second final tournament that invited the 101-200 finishers on the Yearly TLB. He was awarded a 1-stamp PokerStars Passport for the victory. Ronald 'jus2awsum' Lee, who finished 278th place on the Monthly TLB, won a 1-stamp PokerStars Passport when he took down a final for players finishing in places 201-500. Finally, 'MangosPapa' acquired a 1-stamp passport after finishing 625th on the December TLB and winning the 501-1000 group final.

As you can see, there are multiple ways to obtain a PokerStars Passport. If you have any questions regarding the PokerStars Passport feel free to contact support@pokerstars.com. Otherwise, sign-up for free at PokerStars.com today for you chance to claim a PokerStars Passport.
