Many online sportsbooks offer incentives in an effort to get you to do your sports betting at their website. One of the more valuable promotions offered is the free half point.
It has some great value to it as if you were to buy a half point and move the line on every football game you bet, the cost would be $10 per $100 your trying to win. In summary, your enhancing your chances of winning a game (how many times have we all lost by a measley 1/2 point?) and your getting a heck of a deal in that your getting $120 worth of betting value for only $110 (per $100 your trying to profit.)
Sportsbooks offering this incentive:
Skybook - All you have to do is sign up and deposit a minimum of $50. They will allow you to move the line a half on all football wagers. If you deposit $100 or more, they will also throw in a 10% free play (match play.) Deposits of $500 or more get you a 10% real cash bonus.
The wagers need to be made over the internet. Sides only. The max you can bet on a free half point game is $500. The deal is valid 7 days a week for football but only one game per day. They offer the freebie on basketball games but only Friday games. Unfortunately this offer does not apply to moving on or off of a spread of 3 or 7 in football games. This offer isn't valid in combination with point buys. Once you've signed up, you must contact their customer service to let them know that you'd like your account to be hooked up to the free half point program.
Sportbet - One of the oldest books on the web, Sportbet offers this wager every Thursday for all football and hoops games. They ask that you place these bets between 9am and 10pm EST. The neat thing about this book is that they don't limit you to just one free half point wager. You can bet the whole card if you like. Max. bet is $500. Circled games aren't usable with this promotion either. No point buys in correlation with this wager. They'll take this bet over the phone but the min. is $50. You can bet it online for as little as $1.00. As with all books, they won't let you buy on or off the 3 with this bet (in football.) The freebie can be used for totals as well which is a VERY valuable asset to your sports betting arsenal.
