WSOP-Europe Bracelet Winners
by Chad Holloway of Predictem.com
I’ve been watching World Series of Poker-Europe broadcasts on ESPN as of late. I really enjoy this event for two reasons. First, it is a WSOP event so there is prestigious bracelets up for grabs. Second, the field is relatively small (as compared to the Main Event in Las Vegas) so the tables are stacked with recognizable pros. Needless to say, this is top notch poker at its best. Being the poker aficionado as I am, I know who wins what poker tournaments even before they air. This may not be the case for everyone; in fact, the WSOP-Europe holds a number of smaller bracelet events (just like in the United States) that aren’t even aired. This got me thinking, “Who has won a WSOP-Europe bracelet?” Since the WSOP-Europe started back in 2007, I’ve decided to create a list of the past winners. So, without further adieu, here are you’re past WSOP-Bracelet winners:
2009 WSOP-Europe Bracelet Winners
- £1,000 No-Limit Hold'em (Event #1)- John-Paul Kelly (£136,803- 608 entrants)
- £2,500 Pot Limit Hold’em/Pot-Limit Omaha (Event #2)- Erik Cajelais (£104,677- 158 entrants)
- £5,000 Pot Limit Omaha (Event #3)- Jani Vilmunen (£204,048- 154 entrants)
- £10,000 WSOP Europe Main Event No-Limit Texas Hold'em (Event #4)- Barry Shulman (£801,603- 334 entrants)
2008 WSOP Europe Bracelet Winners

- £2,500 H.O.R.S.E. (Event #2)- Shekhan Farnood (£76,999- 110 entrants)

- £10,000 WSOP Europe Main Event No-Limit Texas Hold'em (Event #4)- John Juanda (£868,800- 363 entrants)
2007 World Series of Poker Europe Bracelet Winners

- £10,000 WSOP Europe Main Event No-Limit Texas Hold'em (Event #3)- Annette Obrestad (£1,000,000- 362 entrants)
You may recognize some of the names on this list. It seems to be an eclectic mix of European and American players, which is further proof that the WSOP draws a crowd from all over the world. If you’re interested in playing or following the WSOP-Europe, it usually runs in September in London, England. You can check out WorldSeriesofPoker.com for more details or to preregister today.
