The way this season has gone for the Cowboys, the current three wins in their last seven games represents an improvement in play for the team. They played the top five teams in that stretch beating Texas Tech at home and West Virginia and Kansas on the road. On the season theyre 6-10 straight up in conference games going 7-9 versus the betting line.
Iowa State enters this game on a dismal 1-6 W/L run and is amid a four-game losing streak. At home, they have been competitive in recent matches going 2-2 with the two defeats coming by six to TCU and six to Kansas. This match will be their second meeting of the campaign, with the first one resulting in a 96 to 87 overtime home win for the Cowboys. The extending of the margin in the OT period gave Oklahoma State the point spread cover and the extra 25 points weren’t needed as the scoring crossed over the total line in regulation.

If both teams were healthy, Id probably back the Cowboys based on their impressive road wins over West Virginia and Kansas, but we have an even better situation. The Cyclones played tough for 40 minutes on the road in Stillwater before fading in overtime, but this time around they’ll have to play without Forward Donovan Jackson who led the team with 30 points. Also missing will be Guard Nick Weiler-Babb and Forward Solomon Young who each added 12 points. For those not doing the math, that’s 54 points removed from the starting five.
