Roulette – The 1-18 bet

On the Roulette wheel there are 36 numbers and one of the many bets that you can make is the 1-18 bet. On the Roulette betting table there are both inside bets and outside bets that you can make. The inside bets are the actual 36 numbers that you can select individually and the outside bets are various bets such as odd, even, red, black, 1-18, and 19-36, to name a few.
If you lay your bet on the 1-18 box you are betting that when the Roulette wheel is spun that the ball rests on one of the numbers that is 1 to 18. If the ball rests on any number that is 1-18 you will win your bet. With the 1-18 bet you will be paid out 1-1, so if you bet $5 on the 1-18 bet and it comes in you will be paid out $10. Many people think that this is a 50/50 bet, but that is not the case, as the zero or zeros on the Roulette wheel make it just under 50%. European Roulette only has one zero on wheel while the American version of the game has two zeros. Unless you are in Europe it is pretty much impossible to find European Roulette in a land based casino, but they can be found at many Internet Casinos. For example, if the minimum bet at a table is $5 then $5 is the minimum amount that you must bet on one bet, such as 1-18. On the flip side, lets say that the maximum bet at the table is $500. The $500 is the total amount that you can bet at the table. You can bet the max amount of $500 on one bet or spread around the table with various bets. For example, you can bet $250 on 1-18 and then $250 on other bets on the table. However, you cannot surpass the $500 max limit.
