Find a better local and don't worry about paying what you don't owe. If he's smart, he's not going to jeopardize his biz by making a big issue over $110. He's probably accustomed to chasing his money from his clients which means he has a weak clientel.

So taking advice from Cusefan, since he seems to know locals, I told him if he wants the $110 so bad on such a sham ass wager, then he can come find me and break my knees for it. I insisted on getting hostile and verbally aggressive in which he then tried to threaten me by saying, "You don't want to do this buddy, I know lawyers"... Ummm, okay-(side note: this is probably why this stupid ******* is a bookie and doesn't have a real job in main stream society because I highly doubt this man is stupid enough to threaten me with legal action when his whole operation is illegal-lol ) So now that I kind of realized that the guy is a waste of time and he really isn't going to come after me, I just flat out told him good luck with the rest of your clients because I'm not dealing with this bull**** ever again and I hung up on him.

Oh man, I don't want this on my conscience... Haha, just kidding. I wouldn't have paid him either though, to be honest. He is going to threaten you with a lawyer?

HaHaHa, thanks Homedawg... and the weird thing was that I only bet with him for a few months and had a small swing the week prior, ended up being down $415 and I paid the guy that friday by 6pm like he asked. That was just another reason why I had such an issue because its not like I was trying to shake the guy, I obviously pay when I lose and I don't cry about it, but on such a silly matter he was not willing to bargain. Thank god I went back to my online books, although it would be nice to be able to find a local who is reputable... Theres no better feeling then seeing the look on his face as he has to hand me a couple hunderd dollars$$$! lol Thanks Homedawg:beerbang:

I use a local now that every sportsbook is basically unavailable unless I want to pay WU fees or send some offshore agency all my credit card/drivers liscence info(not happening). And I would be that $110 that he did not pay out the other end of the bets to others, citing the 55 minute rule as his reasoning. Find a better local, the one I deal with is pretty good and only makes me pay up when I'm $500 or more down on a week, otherwise we just roll it over until (and usually don't) get to that point. Only downfall is I feel like a dick calling him to collect when I am less than $500 up, but like someone said we're not friends.

Update on the bookie

Once again I like to thank the continued response on my issue. Since today was supposed to be my "deadline", I decided to call him and try to reason with him one last time on the absurdity of me paying an obvious No Action call on a game that was played a mere 32 damn minutes. He continued to say "If the game is marked Final next to it, then that is the score I mark the wager at, end of story." Agreed, another life lesson learned and with the support of you guys, gave me enough strength to stand up to this prick for what I knew was a bull**** move.

Anyway, now I need to find a Sportsbook for this season. I mentioned before that last season I used Bodog and Sportsbook.com for my betting needs, but the wait for the payouts from them now is just ridiculous IMO. I also think the industry has been rocked ever since the U.S. legal bull**** getting involved with WTO and that business end of it.

I will also start a threat in the General Discussion section tomorrow to try and get a good amount of discussion and opinion on Sportsbooks that the predictem community is using, for myself and anyone else getting ready to find a book for the beginning of the season; and if any of you guys have any recommendations on a book that has pretty fast payouts that would also be great.

I am here, and I am king of the locals (I guess) on this website since none of the other "regulars" use one. I ONLY use a local, and ONLY always have. I do have a good guy who is more than fair so I'm in a good situation, and in fact, have never had a bad experience from my time in Wash DC back in college to being back here in NJ... Anywhoo, tell the guy to lick your ******* ball-bag! I'm pretty sure he isn't coming after you for a measly $110 and if he is, he's a nobody who you have nothing to worry about anyway. Be honest with him, and tell him you are not paying because it is complete bull****. An NFL game has to go 55 minutes (fun fact from FlyerFan), and that's how it works. Say you were under the impression that he was a credible "local" and that Vegas rules applied. If he still says you owe him, tell him you are done using his "service", and you're sorry but you simply refuse to pay.

There's no way on Earth the guy is coming after you for $110. It's just not happening.

All I use are locals. Been using several different ones and have always been able to talk to them when there has been an issue. Be straight forward with him you'd be amazed how many can be understanding when they know they are going to lose all your business!

If he insists that you still owe it I'd pay him since the rules can be different from local to local!
Then move on and find someone else to go through explain the situation to him and have him lay the rules out for you.
