how do they decide BTW whether to call the game and make it a rain shortened final (i have seen like 6 inning rain shortened games as finals before i think) or play the rest of it some other time?

Same thing happened in Milwaukee/Florida didn't it earlier in the year? My guy counted it as a no play, and I think online books did as well. They resumed the next day that one too.

Game's banged. Will be resumed tomorrow afternoon at 12:30, then 20-30 mins and start the final game.

They will resume tomorrow if it doesn't get finished tonight. I would assume all wagers would stay pending until it is finished.

They need to play the bottom of the 7th for it to be complete. If they dont finish the bottom of the 7th, they will finish the game tomorrow. All they are trying to do now is finish the 7th and then call the game. The announcers here just said that it will most likely be a 7 inning game if they finish tonight.

Scratch that. It's still raining but they're going to try to get a full 9 in. The Pirates, by rule, have to bat in the 7th to take it final.

Wish I could give you an update, but they put the White Sox game on Comcast down here now so no idea what is gonna happen.
